Autograph Letter Signed ("Art + Francoise") to S. Clay Wilson with a Drawing by Spiegelman

First. Octavo. Letter to S. Clay Wilson. Undated but 1982. Folded for mailing, else fine. The left-hand side of the page consists of a Spiegelman drawing of a man with a head made from a sticker for his magazine Raw. The text of the letter in full: "Hi Wiltz Herewith Rawz. Going to Yurrp til Sept. 2. then Raw 4. If you wanna show us stuff that might be appropriate... deadline, September 10. Have a good summer. All the best, Art + Francoise." The drawing and full text of the letter are in the hand of Spiegelman, except for the signature of Francoise. In 1975 Spiegelman and Bill Griffin founded the comic Arcade which featured the work of artists like Wilson and R. Crumb. Spiegelman and his wife Francoise Mouly founded Raw in 1980, and though it was relatively short lived it was extremely influential. A nice association between two founding members of the Underground Comics movement. Spiegelman won a Pulitzer Prize in 1992. .

HISTOIRE DE L'EDITION FRANCAISE. ---- Tome 1 : Le Livre conquérant . Du Moyen-Âge au milieu du XVIIe siècle .

Promodis - Paris 1982. 1 Volume/1.- TOME 1 seul -- Reliure éditeur cartonnée sous jaquette illustrée. Formatin-folio( 30,5 x 22 cm )( 2415 gr ). Shoeless Joe

Houghton Mifflin, Boston 1982 - 1st edition/1st printing. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the author on the half-title page: 'For Ed Morris With best wishes Bill Kinsella May 24/82 Chicago'. A blind-stamped (no color) embossment directly below that inscription reads 'Library of Edward L. Morris E.L.M.', so the book's previous owner was the person the author's inscription was written to. Straight, clean, very tight book with only that blind-stamp ed embossment to keep it from being 'as new'. The price intact, crisp and clean dustjacket has just a touch of the lower spine end bluing to the green (much less than normal), and a couple of very tiny edge nicks at the flap fold ends, but is otherwise in excellent condition. A lovely copy of this classic which was made into the movie 'Field Of Dreams' and which won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature. A baseball-based fantasy about the power of dreams to move people. ; Signed by Author [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]

        Stalking the Nightmare

Huntington Woods: Phantasia Press, 1982. Book. Fine. Hardcover. Signed By Author and Illustrator. 1st Edition. First edition, lettered state. Limited to ONLY 40 SIGNED AND LETTERED COPIES. Foreword by Stephen King. The book is bound in full black Oasis Morocco (goat-skin) with a gold stamped design by Jane Mackenzie of the white rabbit from ALICE IN WONDERLAND on the front cover. The rabbit has Harlan Ellison's face. The book is contained in a "grimoire box." The box is cast in a synthetic resin called Uncast Three, from original linden wood carvings by Steve Kirk. The box was then hand finished with intentional irregularities in surface and finish to produce a "stressed antique" appearance. The "carvings" on the faces of the box represent scenes from the stories in the book: Top face illustrates "Grail" and incorporates the publisher's logo and the sculptor's chop, hinge face illustrates "Final Trophy," lock face illustrates "Tracking Level," top end illustrates "Tiny Ally," bottom end illustrates "Invasion Footnotes" and the base illustrates "Visionary." The grimoire box is lined in black Siloma quilted velvet. The box has antiqued brass fittings, lock, and hasp, and two keys. The box is signed by the author and by the sculptor via a card inserted in a brass frame which is affixed to the inside of the box's lid. One of the most elaborate science fiction specialty press books ever produced. Fine in antiqued grimoire box. This state not issued in dust jacket..
