PARKER, Charlie.) PARKER, Chan & Francis Paudras.
Poitiers: Editions Wizlov, 1981. Folio. Original maroon textured boards with inset "address label," housed in the original laminated "parcel" tray box with lid. Corners of the box split, some minor stripping of the laminate, but otherwise a very well-preserved copy of this handsome, and elusive, tribute. Profusely illustrated. First and only edition, no limitation but remarkably hard to find, particularly in the fragile, entirely integral box. Visually superb, très émouvant memorial to Parker, reproducing the pictorial and documentary archive about which Chan, his lover, had "cared enough to preserve religiously." An excellent copy. FLEMING, Ian / Bondiana] McLUSKY, John (1923-2006)
Copyright, Glidrose 1981-2. A three-strip panel, being board number 256 drawn in pen and ink on artboard, with pasteover sections of text. Twice SIGNED by John McLusky, firstlly beneath central illustration and again, to revese side, together with adoodled '007' motif, below his 6-linehand-written description. In a simple matt black frame, being glazed to both sides, displaying both front and back of board. Attractively presented. Fine condition. Overall dimensions 54 x 19cm. Written by Jim Lawrence, 'The Paradise Plot' was first serialised in the Daily Express from August 1981-June 1982. It did not appear in a book-form edition until paired with 'Deathmask', published by Titan in 2008. This particular panel shows a key point in the story where Bond is about to investigate Project Polestar, based on the mysterious Estrellita Island in the West Indies. John McLusky is the original and most significant of the James Bond comic strip artists, contributing to over 50 story arcs between 1958 and 1983 and being responsible for portraying what many feel to be the 'Face of Bond' in 1958, drawn notably similar to Sean Connery, some four years prior to the actor landing the role! His original comic panels are hard to find, with many early examples suffering from damp whilst stored at the Daily Express. Gilbert, p.648. [Attributes: Signed Copy]

Tokyo: Nikkatsu, 1981. Collection of eight vintage studio still photographs from the 1981 film. A couple of photographs lightly toned, else Fine.

Charles Bukowski
Santa Barbara: Black Sparrow Press, 1981. Women by Charles Bukowski Black Sparrow Press, Santa Barbara 1978 (stated 6th printing, 1981 on title page)Stiff paperback edition.Condition: Front cover has a slightly bent corner, long edge has three nibble bites. Fine spotting to prelims etc. Otherwise clean and tight copy.About:Women is a 1978 novel written by Charles Bukowski, starring his semi-autobiographical character Henry Chinaski. In contrast to Factotum, Post Office and Ham on Rye, Women is centered on Chinaski's later life, as a celebrated poet and writer, not as a dead-end lowlife. It does, however, feature the same constant carousel of women with whom Chinaski only finds temporary fulfillment. Women focuses on the many dissatisfactions Chinaski faced with each new woman he encountered. One of the women featured in the book is a character named Lydia Vance; she is based on Bukowski's one-time girlfriend, the sculptress and sometime poet Linda King. Another central female character in the book is named "Tanya" who is described as a 'tiny girl-child' and Chinaski's pen-pal. They have a weekend tryst. The real-life counterpart to this character wrote a self-published chapbook about the affair entitled "Blowing My Hero" under the pseudonym Amber O'Neil. The washed-up folksinger "Dinky Summers" is based on Bob Lind. In the book, Chinaski's nickname is Hank, which was one of Bukowski's nicknames.

The royal couple had two sons, princes Harry and William who became second and third in the line of succession to the British throne. As Princess of Wales, Diana became involved with dozens of charities including the Landmine Survivors Network, British Lung Foundation, British Deaf Association, Meningitis Trust, and the Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children, among a roster of others. WRONKOW, Ludwig and George
Sixteen handmade illustrated books, dated 1972-1981, from brothers Ludwig and George Wronkow, German-Jewish émigrés who worked as editors for the New York-based German-speaking newspaper *Aufbau*. Each book is written in German and profusely decorated with color drawings, tipped in photographs, canceled checks, embellished newspaper clippings, collages, and various found objects, such as pins, cut-up playing cards, miniature hats and electronics components, all illustrating stories, poems, and political commentary. Ludwig and George were journalists who worked for the left-leaning Mosse publishing house in Berlin during the 1920s and 1930s, with Ludwig also contributing cartoons. With the rise of Hitler in 1933, they fled Germany. They went first to Paris, where they worked in radio and newspapers before finally emigrating to the U.S. in 1938. Upon their arrival they began writing for *Aufbau*, a German-Jewish newsletter that became the leading international anti-Nazi publication with contributions from many noted exiles such as Albert Einstein, Thomas Mann, and Stefan Zweig. In the year immediately after the war, the newspaper was the leading source of information on Jewish survivors. The brothers wrote for the newspaper for several decades, with Ludwig eventually becoming its editor-in-chief. He died in 1982 at age 80. George's late 1960s contributions to the Swiss paper *Die Tat* were collected in the 1969 book *Leben mit dem Hass [Live with the Hate]*, and his autobiography, *Kleiner Mann In Groen Zeiten: Reportagen Eines Lebens [Little Man in Big Times: Reports of a Li … [Click Below for Full Description]

Paul Bowles
Santa Barbara, California: Black Sparrow Press, 1981. Condition advisory: this and other copies of the publisher were in a room that got flooded. NONE of that touched the books But the crew that used fans and heaters to dry the room created moisture that caused foxing, setting on top of the pages. This book was lucky and came out almost entirely unscathed. Two slight spots on the tops of the pages. The flash from my photo makes the spine seem a little faded, IT IS NOT, it is fine. Otherwise, besides that minor blemish of the bit of foxing the book is in bright fine condition (see all 12 photos). This is the Publisher's Copy and has been signed by the publisher on the colophon page and signed by Paul Bowles on a special page near the front of the book. Notice the red binding. This is one of about 31 special deluxe copies and 4 presentation copies with the red binding back strip. 73 pages. I purchased this years ago from a high end First Edition dealer in Santa Barbara. His price was $650 Then I personally took it to the Black Sparrow offices in Santa Rosa and the publisher was kind enough to sign on the colophon page. He's the man that built the publishing house famous for publishing Bukowski, Fante, Bowles and others. It does have a touch of foxing (two mild spots) on the tops of the pages. When will you find a more choice copy than the Publisher's Copy that the publisher has signed?Because of current conditions I am ONLY offering this exclusively to Us. Buyers with U.S. addresses.
