DAMIEN HIRST: I WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE, EVERYWHERE, WITH EVERYONE, ONE TO ONE, ALWAYS, FOREVER, NOW - FIRST EDITION WITH A SIGNED PRESENTATION FROM THE ARTIST

Booth-Clibborn Editions, London 1996 - 334pp, profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Designed by Jonathan Barnbrook and Damien Hirst. With a chronology, bibliography, and exhibition history. Published in conjunction with Booth-Clibborn Editions and the Gagosian Gallery, "I Want to Spend My Life With You,." is likely the most lavish single trade publication to date on a contemporary artist. Frieze enfant terrible Hirst collaborated with the great Jonathan Barnbrook on its innovative, over the top design; incorporating a number of pop-ups, sliding and movable plates, transparent overlays, die-cut pages, stickers, and two posters. The book reproduces nearly every work created by the artist up to 1997, and is a lasting monument to the Saatchi decade. A most handsome copy of the 1997 Booth-Clibborn Editions British first printing with everything present bearing the BOLDLY SIGNED PRESENTATION "Happy Birthday . Love Damien (bought by .) XXX! in black ink on the title page showing a bit of sunning to the orange printed lettering at the spine. The book was purchased as a birthday gift by the husband of a fellow artist at the opening of the Royal Academy "Sensation" exhibition of the Saatchi collection which Hirst then inscribed at an after-party held later that evening at Soho's notorious The Groucho Club. PLEASE NOTE: Additional shipping costs are required for this item beyond our standard rates due to its weight and value - we will inform you of the applicable amount at time of purchase.         The Imaginary Girlfriend

Bloomsbury, (London) 1996 - The uncorrected proof copy of the first British edition of this title, which was incorporated into the U.S. edition of Trying to Save Piggy Sneed and had no separate U.S. printing. Inscribed by Irving. Fine in a near fine, proof dust jacket, worn where it overlays the proof, with the price of £13.99 (later lowered to £9.99). An uncommon proof (the British trade edition would have had a proportionally smaller printing than a U.S. one would have had, and the proof equally so), especially with the proof jacket, and even more so signed by Irving. This is the first signed copy of it we have handled. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]

The Golden Compass (Northern Lights), The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass - His Dark Materials Trilogy

Knopf, New York 1996 - A very fine signed set of the American First Edition, First Impression of Philip Pullman's award winning His Dark Materials trilogy consisting of The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. The Golden Compass is signed and dedicated by Philip Pullman to the heroine of his trilogy "Lyra", increasing its rarity value. The Golden Compass was published in the UK as Northern Lights but the movie starring Dakota Blue Richards as Lyra, Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman and Sam Elliott used the American Title, making it a very attractive acquisition. Philip Pullman's creation has been recognised as a masterpiece and won many awards. Northern Lights won the Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Award and Children's Book Of The Year Award at the British Book Awards. The Amber Spyglass was the winner of Whitbread Book Of The Year - the first Children's novel to do so. The Golden Compass was signed by Philip Pullman with his trademark blue pen at the Sunday Times Oxford Book Festival. The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass were signed by Philip Pullman at The Times Literature Festival in Cheltenham, again using his blue pen. Photographs of the signings are available.         The Emigrants

Harvill, London, UK 1996 - A true UK first edition/first printing, with the words 'This English translation first published in Great Britain in 1996' on the copyright page. A stunning copy. The condition of this copy is astounding. Crisp pages, unmarked dark-blue boards. Perfect jacket, not price-clipped. One of the central figures of Islamic culture, Rumi (1207-1273) only recently began to emerge as a poet of significance to Westerners. Zahra Partovi, the translator, who has taught the poetry of Rumi at The New School for Social Research, is widely acknowledged as one of the leading interpreters of his work for English-speaking readers. Working in the tradition of the great French publishers of the livre de peintre, such as Ambroise Vollard, Henri Kahnweiler, Teriade, and Iliazd, FitzGerald has brought the 20th century art form into the 21st century. With this assemblage of artists and crafts people, he has presented to the viewing / reading public some of the most important texts of our time in elegant and beautiful books. DIVAN-E-SHAMS is certainly at the top of this list. See an Image. [Attributes: Signed Copy; Hard Cover]

VISIONAIRE NO. 17: GOLD (1996) - DISPLAY COPY

Visionaire Publishing, New York 1996 - Individual illustrated sheets laid into an embossed gold paper over boards portfolio, profusely illustrated in monochrome and duotone. Designed by Gregory Foley and Florentino J. Pamintuan. Published in an edition of two thousand, five hundred copies, this is the seventeenth installment of everyone's favorite long-running luxe fashion quarterly, Visionaire. "For some time we had imagined a gilded issue-heavily embellished, incredibly ornate. "Gold" gave us the perfect opportunity to go for baroque. The cover of the issue was hologrammed, embossed, and foil stamped, all on an already solid-gold background. Up until this point, it was one of the most extravagant and delirious issues we had ever created. There were seven pages of Philip Taaffe's gold stars foil stamped onto vellum, which ran an average of a dollar per page - a slight extravagance considering we had at least another fifty pages to fill. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin's fashion photographs featured gold-foil stamping on top of four-color prints - crazy in theory but even more so in practice, when sometimes the only foil-stamped element was the stud earring in the model's ear! Cecilia tracked down OrigamiUSA, who folded a gold-paper goldfish for each issue, and Todd Oldham contributed actual gilded-metal halos. Such frivolities came thanks to this issue's sponsor, the Japanese department store Beams". A handsome unnumbered hors commerce example of this uncommon issue marked "Display Copy" by the publisher showing a small scrape and a torn corner joint to the gold portfolio along with some light overall wear and handling to the box and contents. It has been priced accordingly. PLEASE NOTE: Additional shipping costs are required for this item beyond our standard rates due to its value - we will inform you of the applicable amount at time of purchase.

Umriss der amerikanischen politischen Ökonomie. In 12 Briefen aus dem Jahr 1827. Outlines of American political economy. In twelve letters to Charles J. Ingersoll. With a commentary by Michael Liebig and an epilogue by Lyndon H. LaRouche, Jr.

Wiesbaden: Böttiger., 1996.. 349 Seiten. Gebundene Ausgabe. Text in dt. und engl. Sprache.. Illustrierter Hardcoverband in sehr gutem, ungenutztem Zustand.
