        The Green Mile.

Penguin, London 1996 - First edition of each of the six paperbacks published in self-contained monthly installments in 1996. Small octavo, 6 volumes. Each copy is signed by Stephen King on the title page. A very sharp set, showing only light shelfwear. This novel taps into what Stephen King does best: character-driven storytelling. The setting is the small "death house" of a Southern prison in 1932. The charming narrator is an old man looking back on the events, decades later. Maybe it's a little too cute, maybe the pathos is laid on a little thick, but it's hard to resist the colorful personalities and simple wonders of this supernatural tale. As Time magazine put it, "Like the best popular art, The Green Mile has the courage of its cornier convictions . the palpable sense of King's sheer, unwavering belief in his tale is what makes the novel work as well as it finally does." And it's not a bad choice for giving to someone who doesn't understand the appeal of Stephen King, because the one scene that is out-and-out gruesome can be easily skipped by the squeamish. The Green Mile was nominated for a 1997 Bram Stoker Award and was made into the well-received motion picture directed by Frank Darabont and starring Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan.         Drum: Et sted i Irland (Danish Edition)

Gyldendal - 8700281565 For your consideration is the title, "Drum: Et Sted I Irland," by Krass Clement. Our book includes a signed gift inscription by Krass Clement to none other than Robert Frank. The full gift inscription reads:"Copenhagen, 11 October, 1997To Robert FrankWho gave name to the tower at Coney Island--The Robert Frank Tower.Your picture I read again and again. With love, Krass."This book is graded Fair in a Good++ jacket. The jacket is nice and clean overall with a few scratches to the back of the jacket and minor scuffing around the corners and edges. The jacket is intact and has not been price-clipped. The boards show very light overall wear but there is a watermark to the right 2" margin of the front board and to the bottom left corner of the back board. Aside from the gift inscription there is no handwriting/markings to any of the page, but unfortunately a water spill had caused many of the text pages to adhere to one another along the right edge-margin. We have been able to separate all of the pages with minimal damage to all except for the last three or four pages. The text pages have a light rippling along the right edge-margin and a thin strip (1/4" or less wide) at the right-most edge of the page that has a rough surface from previous adhesion to the opposite pages. The rough right-edge margin is minor on most of the pages except for about the last five pages where it increases to about 1/2" wide and is more noticable. Textblock edges are clean and unblemished. Binding is excellent with a straight spine. This book will be shipped by Express Mail to any domestic or international location at no additional charge and will be fully insured for loss or damage. The book will be packaged in a secure box with foam padding. Published by Gyldendal Publishing, 1996; 95 pages; Hardcover binding.
