VG Cond. Has some minor light staining to the top page edges, with a couple of pages at the back, where the stains extend to the top part of the page surface (see last 3 photos). There is also a bit of oxidization at the bottom edge, with some brown specks there, which have left some brown marks on the bottom surface of a few of the pages (lower blank border areas). Only other issue is that some of the gilding to the front has rubbed away. Otherwise, a very nice copy, of this rare edition. The Witches' Sabbath/Axiomata 1st Ed Unbound Binder's Proof? Anomaly Austin Osman Spare Fulgur RARE! OOP The Witches' Sabbath/Axiomata by Austin Osman Spare Fulgur, London, 1992 First Edition. Hardcover in dust jacket, unbound copy. VG+ Condition. This is an extremely rare and unique copy of the first edition of Witches' Sabbath/Axiomata, by Austin Osman Spare, published by Fulgur in 1992. This is the first book that Fulgur published, and could have been their last, as the project was beset with problems from the start. It had been intended that 956 copies would be produced, but at least half of the limitation was destroyed, when the printer being used went bankrupt, and the copies that were being held were all pulped. So in the end, probably less than 400 copies of the standard edition were produced. The copy I am offering here, is a one-of-a-kind anomaly. It is an unbound copy, which has all the elements in place, but has not been pasted down, leaving it in an unfinished state. This possibly was a binder's proof, which never got bound. I purchased it many years ago, and at the time, it was without a dust jacket, and also without the 2 photos. I was able to acquire a spare dust jacket, and also had a couple of spare photos. With these additions, this copy has all the elements that you would find in the 1st edition. The only difference, is that it is in an unbound state (so basically, the paste-down end sheets have not been pasted down); the photos have not been tipped in (so they are loose); and the copy has not been numbered. Essentially, if you pasted down the end sheets … [Click Below for Full Description]

New York: 1992. This publication is very rare! And when sold from the actual producers of it, it goes for $2500. I am selling it at well reduced price so another collector can enjoy it. Here's the description of it, that I got from another book seller selling their copy at $1100. Individual sheets laid into a silkscreened, die-cut portfolio, profusely illustrated in monochrome. Designed by Mats Gustafson and Stephen Gan. Published in an edition of one thousand, five hundred copies, this is the seventh installment of everyone's favorite long-running luxe fashion quarterly, Visionaire. "With "Black", Visionaire doubled in size-and also in price. The issue was inspired by the season's all-black Comme des Garcons collection, Edward Gorey's macabre cartoons, and by artist Antoni Tapies. It was about darkness, the night, shadows, and what you may or may not see when you squint your eyes. A traditional artist's portfolio case tied with three black ribbons, provided the concept for the packaging. The die-cut letters were based on tears Stephen had made with scrap paper that enabled, once again, different first pages to peek through the cover". The contributors to this noir-ish issue are editor Stephen Gan, Edward Gorey, Ruben Toledo, Bill Cunningham, Elaine Gan, Juan Botas, Bruce Weber, Mats Gustafson, Mario Testino, Francois Berthoud, Karen Park, Gregory Foley, Bernard Figueroa, David McDonough, Mika Mizutani, Max Vadukl, Satoshi Sakusa, Peter Lindbergh, Ross Bleckner, Michel Haddi, Enrique Badulescu, Andrew Brucker, Philippe Salomon, Noelle Hoeppe, James Dignan, Michael Capotosto … [Click Below for Full Description]

The Allen Press
Condition: Altogether offering a unique glimpse at the congenial disposition of Lewis and Dorothy Allen, whose private lives remain fairly abstruse.___ All the items are in fine/near fine condition; a few have minor creases to the edges, but almost every piece is clean and without wear, free of soiling; they came to us in a large mailing envelope addressed to Mr. & Mrs. Jack Aldridge, and were clearly kept well-protected, and cherished, by them. 17 pieces of ephemera of varying sizes, in original mailing envelope, many with hand-written notes from the Allens. Ethel Crockett-Aldridge was a prominent librarian in California. She (alone at first, and subsequently) with her second husband Jack Aldridge, were devoted collectors of The Allen Press limited editions. The correspondence in this small archive begins with Ethel Crockett in 1966, and continues through 1992, after her marriage to Jack. They were evidently members of The Book Club of California and The Roxburghe Club, with some of the ms letters and announcements referring to the clubs. The friendship between the Aldridges and the Allens appears to have begun with Ethel as a customer, and eventually developed into a close friendship with regular intimate dinners. The archive includes announcements, Christmas cards, ms notes, ms postcards and letters (on The Allen Press stationary), and one prospectus. Altogether offering a unique glimpse at the congenial disposition of Lewis and Dorothy Allen, whose private lives remain fairly abstruse.
