Michael Bertiaux
Privately Published, 1992. Near Mint Cond. INSTRUMENTUM 9 Vol. 36 Issue Full Set Michael Bertiaux OTOA Kenneth Grant Occult RARE! INSTRUMENTUM 9 Volumes - 36 Issues (1977-1985), Bound in 2 Books - FULL SET. by Michael Bertiaux, and other OTOA members Softcover, Privately Published. Near Mint condition Much rarer than the Monastery of 7 Rays Four Year Course, this is the complete set of INSTRUMENTUM journals, reprinted by the OTOA in 1992, and bound in a two book set. There were 36 Issues of INSTRUMENTUM, published between 1977 and 1985. They were published on the Equinoxes and the Solstices, so 4 issues were published each year. The average size of an issue was 20-30 A4 sized pages, but some were shorter, and some were longer (with one of the issues being over 90 pages in length. So the total page count would come to around 1,000 pages. There was no great production involved, as most of the issues were produced by Bertiaux, using a Xerox machine, and they would have only been sent out to members and subscribers. In 1992, the OTOA decided to reprint the whole set, in this two book format. It is not really clear how many were printed, but it would not have been many - as they certainly were not cheap. And were only available by mail order. Despite the basic production values, the content is amazing! INSTRUMENTUM is essential reading for anyone who wants to delve into the work of Michael Bertiaux and the OTOA. INSTRUMENTUM is on a similar scale to Aleister Crowley's Equinox project - but much more interesting! There is plenty on the Qliphoth, strange and bizarre sex magick rit … [Click Below for Full Description]

From a total edition of 135, this copy one of 85 copies that were bound in a cover of Japanese cotton over boards and housed in a linen slipcase; of these copies numbered 31-90 were offered for sale; this copy not numbered but reserved for the press and lettered K, signed by Baskin and Fowles on the colophon. 101 pp.; folio; both the Lawrence text and the Fowles commentary are composed in the Bembo types and printed, with the nine Baskin blocks, by letterpress on mould-formed English Somerset paper. In his final novel, published less than a year before his death, Lawrence takes up the theme of Christ's resurrection and his final days on earth. The origins of this last novel had no fewer than eight versions of the manuscript in existence, some incomplete. A portion of the text was originally published in story form, later revised, then revised again in its several volume additions. The Yolla Bolly Press made use of the valuable commentary and list of variants by Gerald Lacy in the Black Sparrow Press edition of The Escaped Cock, in order to correct some errors in the Knopf version, forming the basis of this limited edition. New York: 1992. This publication is very rare! And when sold from the actual producers of it, it goes for $2500. I am selling it at well reduced price so another collector can enjoy it. Here's the description of it, that I got from another book seller selling their copy at $1100. Individual sheets laid into a silkscreened, die-cut portfolio, profusely illustrated in monochrome. Designed by Mats Gustafson and Stephen Gan. Published in an edition of one thousand, five hundred copies, this is the seventh installment of everyone's favorite long-running luxe fashion quarterly, Visionaire. "With "Black", Visionaire doubled in size-and also in price. The issue was inspired by the season's all-black Comme des Garcons collection, Edward Gorey's macabre cartoons, and by artist Antoni Tapies. It was about darkness, the night, shadows, and what you may or may not see when you squint your eyes. A traditional artist's portfolio case tied with three black ribbons, provided the concept for the packaging. The die-cut letters were based on tears Stephen had made with scrap paper that enabled, once again, different first pages to peek through the cover". The contributors to this noir-ish issue are editor Stephen Gan, Edward Gorey, Ruben Toledo, Bill Cunningham, Elaine Gan, Juan Botas, Bruce Weber, Mats Gustafson, Mario Testino, Francois Berthoud, Karen Park, Gregory Foley, Bernard Figueroa, David McDonough, Mika Mizutani, Max Vadukl, Satoshi Sakusa, Peter Lindbergh, Ross Bleckner, Michel Haddi, Enrique Badulescu, Andrew Brucker, Philippe Salomon, Noelle Hoeppe, James Dignan, Michael Capotosto … [Click Below for Full Description]

McCARTHY. CORMAC.; .
Alfred A. Knopf. New York.,1992-98. FIRST EDITIONS. 1st impressions. Three Volumes. 8vo. (8.6 x 6.1 inches). Fine, bright copies in the publishers fine original dustwrappers, designed by Chip Kidd. A fine set of true first editons of this hugely popular trilogy. There is some confusion about a probable trial issue dustwrapper for the first title, with no advance praise notices on the lower panel and lacking the blue capital letter 'A' at the start of the blurb inside the front flap. This wrapper was not officially issued with the published book. The first edition wrapper, as issued on day of publication, has the price of $21.00 on the inner front flap and the number code '5/92' at the bottom of the inner rear flap. The wrapper on All the Pretty horses in this set has both of these points.------ All the Pretty Horses was filmed, directed by Billy Bob Thornton, in 2000. The film was not a commercial success, but after both critical and box office triumphs for Hollywood adaptations of Mccarthy's works since, a film version of the third novel in the trilogy, directed by Andrew Dominik, is due for release this year (2012).:.
