When the author first saw the research materal used for this book, he was shocked. He did not believe that Jews could kill other Jews for political objectives. After reading the material, he gradually started to document the information and as a result this book evolved. Never before has anything been published like this. These are all true and shocking facts and he belives the reader will be moved, just as he was." - from dust jacket. DENNIS JOHNSON
NEW YORK, NEW YORK: Jesus' Son Dennis Johnson SIGNED 1st PRINTING / 1st EDITION FARRAR, STRAUS & GIROUX 1992 ____________ FINE+ CONDITION. INCLUDES BRODART ARCHIVAL DUST JACKET COVER. DEFINITIONS OF CONDITION : VERY FINE (AS NEW/MINT) ~ Very Fine means the book is in the same immaculate condition as when it emerged from the bindery. There are no defects or marks, and the dust jacket (if it was issued with one) must be perfect and without any tears. In short, it is a copy that is close to perfect in every respect. It should be noted that in the real world, Very Fine books are relatively uncommon, and that most Antiquarian Booksellers use Fine as the highest condition grading. FINE ~ Fine is marginally less than perfect, and may designate a book that is still new, or a book that has been carefully read. The use of the term Fine (as compared to Near Fine or Very Good) often depends on when the book was published. A recent book should have no notable defects at all. But the dustjacket of a Fine older book may have a small closed tear, or be a little rubbed, even a bit worn at the edges. Such defects, if present, must be minor and should always be noted. (Note also that a book may be new and unread, but it may have aged on the shelf to the point of being considered Near Fine or even Very Good. Similarly a unique 200-year-old book might be viewed as "Fine", while a recent book in the exact same condition could only be described as "Very Good".) NEAR FINE ~ Somewhere between Very Good and Fine. The distinction is usually in the eye of the bookseller and involves minor defects (whi … [Click Below for Full Description]

Ardsley: The Haydn Foundation for the Cultural Arts, 1992. Leaf Book. folio. fawn cloth portfolio boxes, gilt red morocco labels on spines and upper covers. 38 original leaves from American Bibles, matted with letterpress tilting to each mount. Four volumes. First edition, limited to 100 numbered sets of four portfolios finely printed by Andrew Hoyem at the Arion Press (Leaf Book - Chalmers 201). This landmark publication presents for the first time the history of the Bible in America through a display of thirty-eight original leaves from the most significant editions of the Scriptures printed in the present geographical area of the United States. The Bibles span a period of over 200 years, from 1663 to 1878. The leaves are from the collection of the noted Americanist Michael Zinman, who has selected them and written an explanatory text for each, and who provides a preface as well. Also included is an essay by Professor Mark A. Noll. The original leaves are boxed according to four distinct groupings: Bibles in the languages of the natives of America, Bibles in English from the 18th and 19th centuries (two portfolios), and Bibles in other languages. The first portfolio contains eight leaves, including one from the first Bible printed in America, translated in Massachusetts (1663), usually called the Eliot Indian Bible, and another from the second edition of 1685, as well as significant appearances in Mohawk, Hawaiian, Cherokee, and other languages. The second and third portfolios are comprised of ten leaves each, including one from the first Bible in English printed in Ameri … [Click Below for Full Description]

WE ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO OFFERS Year range for Items: 1920-present Item Description: this is a wonderful extremely rare 1991 Retrospective catalog of Jean Michel Basquiat at the Menil. This catalog was produced for the special show within the Menil Collection March 12th - May 9th, 1993. Text at bottom: The exhibition was organized by the Whitney Museum of American Art and is supported by AT&T with additional funding by the National Committee of the Whitney Museum, Madonna, MTV: Music Television, and the City of Houston through the Cultural Arts Council. It was limited in its production and never reprinted. Jean-Michel Basquiat (December 22, 1960 - August 12, 1988) was an American artist. Basquiat first achieved fame as part of SAMO, an informal graffiti duo who wrote enigmatic epigrams in the cultural hotbed of the Lower East Side of Manhattan during the late 1970s where the hip hop, post-punk, and street art movements had coalesced. By the 1980s, he was exhibiting his neo-expressionist paintings in galleries and museums internationally. The Whitney Museum of American Art held a retrospective of his art in 1992. Basquiat's art focused on "suggestive dichotomies", such as wealth versus poverty, integration versus segregation, and inner versus outer experience. He appropriated poetry, drawing, and painting, and married text and image, abstraction, … [Click Below for Full Description]

MOSLEY, James.
London, I.M. Imprimit & St. Bride Library 1992-93. One of 200 limited copies, this no. 72. 23 ornamented alphabets from the foundry of Louis John Pouchee together with two additional alphabets from other sources, printed on 46 sheets. With an essay by James Mosley, illustrated with type specimens and decorative borders throughout. Two Volumes. Folio. Mint as issued in large solander box, with book in slipcase containing the author's essay. Although Pouchée's type foundry at Lincoln's Inn Fields only ran from 1818 to 1830, when he was forced out of business by his competitors, he produced some of the most richly ornamented letters to have been created for letterpress printing. Twenty-three of these decorated alphabets survived and are now held at St. Bride Library, where they were identified and catalogued in 1966 by James Mosley, as here.

Charles Bukowski
Santa Rosa, California: Black Sparrow Press, 1992. Fine. This is one of the most exclusive copies of this book. It is one of 26 "Lettered" copies, this one being "U". It has the special multi-colored cloth back strip. This is listed in Krumhansl as 129e (rarest limitation). This was the last Black Sparrow collection of poems published in Bukowski's lifetime. It has the print of Bukowski artwork but notice how the print has been signed by Bukowski, "BUK 92". He also has signed the colophon page. This copy has the clear mylar dust jacket (not shown). 405 pages. Of course you can find a much less expensive copy but this is the exclusive "Lettered" club. International shipping is high because on this item I will require tracking and better, faster handling so must send by Priority Express. Plus eBay takes their cut. I make nothing on postage. Patrick Frazier, 1st Ed PB
Condition: Very Good. LE1-76. [American Indians, History]. The MOHICANS of Stockbridge, by Patrick Frazier. [Publisher: Univ of Nebraska Press / Bison Books, Lincoln: 1992.] First Edition -----Large soft cover paperback (6 x 9"), flat uncreased spine, tight clean and square book, no names, no extraneous marks, book appears to have never been read. .... (xviii) 307 pages with maps and a few illustrations, Near Fine condition. Publisher's Remarks: "On a small reservation in Shawano County, Wisconsin, live several hundred descendants of people immortalized by James Fenimore Cooper. While Cooper was a boy growing up in New York, these people lived about fifty miles from him. Before that, their ancestors had concentrated along the Housatonic River in western Massachusetts in a small village called Stockbridge. It was this village that gave them the name by which they are officially known today, the Stockbridge Indians. That name, and the effort to subsume them into colonial culture, virtually obliterated from American consciousness the fact that they were - and their descendants today are - Mohicans. The mythic characters created by James Fenimore Cooper probably helped sustain the impression that, like the Knights of the Round Table, Mohicans were legendary figures of a misty romantic past who may never have existed. My hope for this book is that it will bring public awareness to the existence of these people & their contribution to a significant segment of American history." Contents include 19 Chapters: List of Illustrations; Preface; Decline of the Spirit; Decline of the Spi … [Click Below for Full Description]
