        Where the Wild Things Are

HarperCollins Publishers, 1991. 25th Anniversary Reissue. Boards. Fine - As New/Fine - As New. A wonderful fine reissue of the 25th Anniversary Edition of this popular book, winner of the Caldecott Medal, signed by Maurice Sendak for Parrish Books on the half-title page. The story of Max, King of the Wild Things, continues on in this wonderful book. In fine unread condition in a fine dustjacket. While the true 25th Anniversary Edition was issued by Harper & Row in 1988 before it became HarperCollins in 1990, HarperCollins then reissued this later edition using the new engravings made from the original art in 1988 and the 25th Anniversary format. This edition features a copyright renewal date of 1991 on the copyright page along with "First Harper Trophy edition, 1984," "25th Anniversary Edition" and "HarperCollinsPublishers" is in lower case and partially in italics. The actual publication date is unknown. But a beautiful book and wonderful illustrations and an important scarce signature.

Une guerre. Livre unique entièrement peint. Signé par l'artiste.

Paris, chez l'artiste, 1 août 1990 - 28 février 1991. - 23 x 18 cm, 11 f. format croissant.

Droogleever Fortuyn Leenmans' is.

Fink studied at the New School of Social Research in New York, taking classes with Lisette Model and Alexey Brodovitch. He taught at the Parson's School of Design and the New School as well as Yale and Cooper Union. He describes his work as follows: "My photographs have been taken with intent to help the human revolution and to do it at the right moment in history. They will testify to the transformation. Such is my feeling. Such is my need." From the prospectus, which is laid in: "Larry Fink's photographs are best described under the rubric 'new social photography.' .reliant on the styles of Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand and Diane Arbus, Fink's work reflects not only the mood of the period of American life that he photographs, but also the currency of the social and artistic forces and institutions that have developed and formed him as an artist." In this collection, Fink's photographs are of the "lower middle class" at gatherings and locales, bringing to mind the photos in CAFÉ LEHMITZ by Anders Petersen. A working copy with numerous corrections. "Good Deed. It's not a simple thing to do a good deed. You look at your professional good-deed doers: Your Lone Rangers, your Supermen. Masks over their faces, costumes, secret identities. They don't want people to know who they are. Too much aggravation. 'Yea, Superman I appreciate you saving me and everything but did you have to break through my wall? I'm renting here. They've got a security deposit. What am I supposed to do?'"

Facsimile Wisden Set - Lowe and Brydone - 1864 to 1878

Hi, This lot is a Lowe and Brydone box set, the second ever box set of facsimiles that were prodused in 1970s. They resemble the original paperbacks (as did Billings but unlike the 3rd Wisden set in 1991 that are like rebinds), It comes in their original box (which may be a Billings box). The box is worn and a bit grubb but the books are nice and clean without too much issue. Only 100 sets were produced with 50 individual runs so 150 in total.
