Laymon, Richard
W.H. Allen, UK, 1989. First edition thus released by W.H.Allen, which published hardcover horror at a time when few other hardback publishers in the UK would touch it. Most of Dean R. Koontz's early British hardcovers were issued by W.H. Allen, as were thee novels by Richard Laymon and Shaun Hutson. This is a very fine copy in immaculate boards, a pristine spine, super clean pages (with just a spot of tanning of the upper textblock edge) and a superlative, crisp dust jacket. VERY FINE. Aldrin, Buzz; Malcolm McConnell
New York: Bantam Books, 1989. New York: Bantam Books. Fine in Fine dust jacket. 1989. First Edition; First Printing; Signed by Author. Hardcover. 0553053744 . A first edition/first printing in unread Fine condition in alike dustjacket. SIGNED by astronaut and author Buzz Aldrin directly on the half-title page. Advertisement card of booksigning event laid in. A very nice copy of a dramatic piece of history; In his book, Aldrin, the second man on the moon, interweaves the story of U. S. And Soviet efforts to reach the moon with his first-hand experience flying both the Gemini and Apollo missions during the height of the space race. His recounting of his two space flights is compelling, especially the account of the nearly aborted Apollo 11 lunar landing. In contrast to Aldrin's astronaut's point of view, Murray and Cox's book tells the Apollo story through the eyes of the NASA managers who guided the men and machines from the early days of the Space Task Group to the Apollo lunar missions. The result is the best account to date of how the enormous program was successfully accomplished. Full of insiders' anecdotes, this book truly humanizes the lunar landing story that too often has been told only in technological and bureaucratic terms. Relying heavily on interviews with the people behind the scenes, the authors vividly capture the spirit of Apollo, its triumphs and tragedies, and its ultimate success .

The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has a small crease at the bottom of the front flap; otherwise as new. The original price (19.95), as issued, is at the bottom of the rear panel. A beautiful copy of a scarce title. ".'Pornucopia' is a picaresque black comedy that transgresses all bounds of everyday good taste. It begins in a near-future world where sex-vending machines and genital transplants are taken for granted. Prior Gross, the hero and sex object of this wild adventure, thinks his fantasies have all come true when a beautiful young woman seduces him on a public beach. She turns out to be a succubus, beginning his initiation into a realm populated by demons which are not merely horned, but horney. He encounters a perverse cast of characters that includes a satyr, a vampire, and a pair of luscious sisters, one of whom tricks him out of his manhood. So Prior Gross sets out on a perverse odyssey, taking him to a distant planet where he discovers the key to the return of his property and, ultimately, the origin of the universe itself." Buffalo: (), 1989. Original unpublished typed MANUSCRIPT (8-1/2" x 11", 64 pages) for what likely was the last book Logan was preparing before his death. There are scattered corrections in the text, and Logan has signed his name and address on the Contents page as well as on the return address of the accompanying envelope addressed to an editor. We could find no book publication of any of the poems except for "The Yellow Christ" which was published in a pamphlet [included] called THE POEM AS RELIC published in 1989 by the University of Buffalo after Logan's death. A comparison of the printed versus manuscript poem reveals only slight alterations. Manuscripts by established poets are obviously not easily obtainable., Manuscript, Expected wear. Near Fine

Rice, Anne
Chatto & Windus, UK. 1989. Immaculate, unread copy of the first hardcover edition of "Mummy" novel from the author who does for genre fiction what Hammer Studios did for the movies. Nobody made vampire films like Hammer with the aid of Messrs Cushing and Lee, whose treatment of the werewolf myth was just as good and who were no slouches when it came to cranking out a magnificent mummy movie or two on a low budget. So, will there be a werewolf novel from Ms Rice in the next millennium? This is an immaculate, unread copy with pristine boards and spine, unread virginal pages and a flawless dustjacket dustjacket, SIGNED BY ANNE RICE. Dische, Irene
Franz Greno Verlag, 1989. First Edition, First Printing. Copy 137 of the limited edition of 999 copies bound in full leather. As new in original cardboard slipcase, the original prospectus laid in. Despite the rather large limitation, these limited books from Greno are really hard to come by, because almost all are sold to interested parties on a subscription basis before publication. Signed by the author on the title page "1 Okt, 90 / Zurich / Schöne Grüsse / Irene Dische." Her first book and an incredibly successful collection of short stories by an author who grew up - speaking German only - in the German ghetto of New York and encountered an English-speaking person for the first time when she was 6 or 7 years old and thought he was an alien. When she signed the book for us on her reading tour for her second book "Der Doktor braucht ein Heim" (a new signed "1 Okt 1990 / Zurich / Irene Dische" first edtition of which we provide with this item), Irene Dische told us that not only did she not own a copy of the limited edition, but also that she had never even seen one. These books from our Catalogue 17, which you can download at [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
