Zweiwochenschrift. Hrsg. von Hans Leybold (Nr. 5 hrsg. von Franz Jung). 1. Jahrg., Hefte 1-5. [Alles Erschienene.]

Gegen literaturbehaftete Oberlehrer, kunstsinnige Kritiker, allgemeine Rundschauer. In summa: Gegen Zuständliches. Und fügte hinzu:Nichtschriftsteller heraus! Keine Literaten sollen gezüchtet werden. Da hatte man die Revolution! Da war sie. 20 Jahre alt war der Kerl. Sehr hurtig. Und paffte einfach drauf los.? (Die weissen Blätter. Jahrg. 2, Heft 4. S. 525.) - Die fünf Nummern enthalten u.a. Beiträge von Hugo Ball, Johannes R. Becher, Ernst Blass, Franz Blei, Max Brod, Leonhard Frank, Iwan Goll, Walter Hasenclever, Emmy Hennings, Kurt Hiller, Jakob van Hoddis, Richard Huelsenbeck, Franz Jung, Klabund, Else Lasker-Schüler, Alfred Lichtenstein, Erich Mühsam, Robert Musil, Karl Otten, Ludwig Rubiner, René Schickele. Nr. 1 an Rücken u. Seitenkanten mit kleinen dezenten Restaurierungen u. Buchhandelsstempel, Umschlag von Nr. 1 u. Nr. 4 mit schwachen Notizen in Blei. Insgesamt gut erhaltene Folge der seltenen Reihe. - Raabe, Zeitschriften 16. - Raabe, Kat. Marbach 25.3. - Jentsch 11. - Dietzel/Hügel 2498. - Schlawe S. 14f. - Dada global S. 88. - Verkauf 181. - Akademie der Künste, Kat. 154, II 55. - Fähnders 34 u. 300. - Bolliger VI, 12.

        EMILE ZOLA: A BIOGRAPHY

Henry Holt & Co 1988 - A highly collectible first edition, tight clean copy, protected in a new br odart wrapper, no inscriptions, unclipped dustjacket, this is not an Ex-Lib or a BCE/BOMC edition. An historian's account of Zola's life, this biography considers Zola not only as journalist, novelist, and librettist but also as social crusader and chronicler of France's ills. In contrast to previous biographies, it does not contain detailed studies of his novels, but we learn about the reportlike methods he used to document each of his literary works. Thus, we are able to follow the evolution of his thought and social conscience from early manhood to his key role in the Dreyfus trials. Indeed, Schom devotes five of his 23 chapters to that case. Well-documented, yet not overly burdened with numerous scholarly footnotes, this biography should be of interest to anyone wishing to learn about Zola and the social problems of his day.         Die Verwandlung (The Metamorphosis)

Handpresse Gutsch, Berlin 1988 - Number 51 of 115 regular edition (total edition 125), folio size, [68] pp., signed by Herbert Gutsch, in German. Franz Kafka (1883-1924) was a German speaking Ashkenazi Jewish novelist and short story writer; this work, Die Verwandlung, published in 1915, being the most well known of his works. It has one of the most famous opening lines in western literature: "As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect." With lovely woodcuts on every page by Herbert Gutsch, a well known German graphic artist, printer and art publisher who has yet to be discovered by many collectors in the U.S. The three-color woodcut by Gutsch, running over 55 pages of text, begins as a narrow horizontal line, which initially separates the type area and becomes progressively wider, in order to completely replace the text by the end. The figures appearing in this frieze gain more and more dominance and menace as the narrative progresses.___DESCRIPTION: Original white cloth with lettering in black to both boards and illustration from the text repeated to all sides, woodcut pictorial endpapers in black and white, three-color woodcut spans all 55 pages of text, note that all text is in German; type Cicero Sabon Antiqua, Werkdruck paper, folio size (15 1/8" by 11 1/8"), unpaginated with [68] pp., limited edition, this number 51 of the 115 regular edition, from a total edition of 125, signed by the artist; housed in a blue cloth slipcase.___CONDITION: Overall fine, the binding is clean and totally without wear, the text block is strong with solid hinges, the interior pages are clean and crisp, and entirely free of prior owner markings; some light foxing to the final few pages of text due to offsetting from the inks used in the woodcut, else fine; in a like slipcase with a few minor stray marks.___POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply as the standard does not always cover costs; please inquire for details.___Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the ABAA,ILAB and IOBA and we stand behind every book we sell. A VERY STUNNING PIECE! Tim Burton studied character animation at Cal Arts, and this rare piece of artwork for the Disney feature film ¿The Black Cauldron¿ represents some of his early work in the field, originating from his time as an uncredited concept artist for the movie. This is a rare piece of concept/character development artwork created in the hand by Mr. Burton for ¿The Black Cauldron¿. The art is rendered in ink and watercolor on paper measuring approximately 9.5¿ x 9¿. Unsigned. It¿s a great look at the early genius of the man behind classic films like Beetlejuice (1988), Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990); and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). There are pinholes in all four corners with minor handling wear. Original Disney concept artwork by Burton is considered extremely rare and highly desirable.         Zweiwochenschrift. Hrsg. von Hans Leybold (Nr. 5 hrsg. von Franz Jung). 1. Jahrg., Hefte 1-5. [Alles Erschienene.]

Gegen literaturbehaftete Oberlehrer, kunstsinnige Kritiker, allgemeine Rundschauer. In summa: Gegen Zuständliches. Und fügte hinzu:Nichtschriftsteller heraus! Keine Literaten sollen gezüchtet werden. Da hatte man die Revolution! Da war sie. 20 Jahre alt war der Kerl. Sehr hurtig. Und paffte einfach drauf los.? (Die weissen Blätter. Jahrg. 2, Heft 4. S. 525.) - Die fünf Nummern enthalten u.a. Beiträge von Hugo Ball, Johannes R. Becher, Ernst Blass, Franz Blei, Max Brod, Leonhard Frank, Iwan Goll, Walter Hasenclever, Emmy Hennings, Kurt Hiller, Jakob van Hoddis, Richard Huelsenbeck, Franz Jung, Klabund, Else Lasker-Schüler, Alfred Lichtenstein, Erich Mühsam, Robert Musil, Karl Otten, Ludwig Rubiner, René Schickele. Nr. 1 an Rücken u. Seitenkanten mit kleinen dezenten Restaurierungen u. Buchhandelsstempel, Umschlag von Nr. 1 u. Nr. 4 mit schwachen Notizen in Blei. Insgesamt gut erhaltene Folge der seltenen Reihe. - Raabe, Zeitschriften 16. - Raabe, Kat. Number 51 of 115 regular edition (total edition 125), folio size, [68] pp., signed by Herbert Gutsch, in German. Hypertext. Communications of the ACM, Vol. 31, No. 7, July, 1988.

New York, 1988. Lex8vo. In the original illustrated wrappers. A very fine and well kept copy, complete with all the inserted coupons. (32) pp. + pp. 805-936. ¶ First edition of one of the most important documents in the history of the development and structure of the internet, the Hypertext-issue of the Communications of the ACM. In 1987 the first large-scale hypertext meeting was held in New York and this special issue presents for the first time in print the papers that were presented at the seminal 1987-meedting. Before the workshop, hypertext had been considered a somewhat esoteric concept of interest only to a closed and very limited circle. The workshop led to broad interest in and enthusiasm about hypertext and new media; "Afternoon, a Story", today known as the first hypertext-fiction, by American author Michael Joyce was published as a direct consequence of the workshop. The editors note that: "This special issue was assembled with the goal of providing readers unfamiliar with hypertext with sufficient information so that they can see the potential for hypertext in their own fields and, perhaps, share this intellectual ferment". This magazine issue is the direct precursor to the seminal 1989-work by Tim Berners-Lee "Information Management: A Proposal". Hypertext is text displayed on a computer or other electronic device with references - today known as hyperlinks - to other text that the reader can immediately access, usually by a mouse click. The issue contains the following papers relating to hypertext:Smith, John (+) Stephen Weill. Hypertext. Pp. 816-819.Akscyn, Robert (+) Donald McCracken (+) Elise Yoder. KMS: A Distributed Hypermedia System for Managing Knowledge in Organizations. Pp. 820-835.Halasz, Frank. Reflections on Notecards: Seven Issues for the next generation of Hypermedia System. Pp. 836-852.Campbell, Brad (+) Joseph Goodman. HAM: A General Purpose Hypertext Abstract Machine. Pp. 856-861.Garg, Pankaj. Abstraction Mechanisms in Hypertext. Pp. 862-870.Raymond, Darrell (+) Frank Tompa. Hypertext and the Oxford English Dictionary. Pp. 871-879.Frisse, Mark. Searching for Information in a Hypertext Medical handbook. Pp. 880-886.Dam, Andries van. Hypertext '87 Keynote Address. Pp. 887-895.

, , 0 - Acrilico su carta. Cm 50x70. . . . . . .
