Large folio, facsimile in original size, one of 300 numbered copies (this one is number 254), out of a total edition of 330 (30 publisher's copies) enclosed in the very large and heavy original Hessian covered custom-made box, the facsimile volume is a facsimile of the Worms Mahzor (Hebrew MS. copied in 1272) consisting of 225 pages of simulated vellum designed to imitate the thickness of the original, bound in full light brown calfskin with decorative blind-tooling to simulate the original binding, with brass clasps, center and corner pieces. While the early manuscripts of this type were only sparsely illustrated, the Mahzor of Worms develops a very special decoration pattern. Virtually all festivals are illustrated to accompany the relevant text. These illuminated scenes reflect the life of … [Click Below for Full Description]

New York; (1985): Random House. First Edition. Octavo. First printing. 337 pages. Perhaps the greatest novel of the past fifty years (see Harold Bloom) but its violence has assaulted the senses as was the first response of Bloom. MARQUEZ, Gabriel Garcia
Editorial La Oveja Negra, 1985. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Small quarto, 335pp. A very good copy in the publisher's white textured cloth. Very mild stain at the bottom front corner of the text block, front board just a tinge warped, but a nice example; in a fine dust jacket. One of 1000 unnumbered limited copies SIGNED by Marquez on the limitation page, along with notarized stamps (as issued). We note at least two different bindings and dust jackets known to have been issued in this limited edition, and are unaware of any priority (being a signed limited edition, there likely isn't one). Appears to have been published concurrently alongside the first trade edition. Marquez was not a prolific signer, and many signed trade editions offered in commerce without strong provenance should be approached with skepticism, as his hand is not too difficult for skilled forgers to imitate. A safe and pleasing copy of one of Marquez's best novels. Very good / fine. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; In Dust Jacket]
