SASAKI, Kyo
Tokyo: Vic Co. Ltd., 1984. Light edge wear, crease to the bottom front corner, else very good in photo-illustrated wrappers, publisher's rare illustrated obi.. First Edition. Small quarto. Beginning spread in color, followed by black and white portraits, mostly 8-12 per page, of nude or scantily clad Japanese women. Reminiscent of Araki's mid-80s romps with a bit of Yoshiyuki's infrared sensibilities tossed-in for good measure. Genitalia blacked out. Previously unknown to me, with no copies in OCLC or Western commerce. Exceptional layout and design, deviously simplistic.

SAINT-LAURENT Yves
[Click Below for Full Description]

(John F Kennedy Assassination) Penn Jones, ed
Midlothian & Waxahachie, TX: Penn Jones Publications, 1984. Paperback. Fine. A complete run of this pioneering newsletter whose mission was to debunk the Warren Commission report and inform its readers of the ongoing powers of Deep State America, 1976-1984. In binders and folders, a total of 48 issues, each 20-24 pp., plus a folder containing an additional 17 duplicate issues, ranging from an extra Vol 1 no. 1 1976 to Vol. 7 no. 2 1983, thus a heavy box of more than 1,000 pages. The editor, Jones, was among the earliest to publicly challenge the received narrative of the JFK assassination, and as the newsletter continued into the Reagan years, Jones was quick to point out the increasing power of the Deep State and expand his newsletter to include reportage on aspects and incidents that led back to the players in the JFK assassination. Remarkably rare to find a complete run, even in institutions, where OCLC's citations are only for incomplete sets (one entry states that the journal discontinued in 1979); we surmise that only Baylor is likely to have a complete run, and even theirs, if so, is badly cataloged. From the collection of noted assassinologist Kathlee Fitzgerald.

Neely Jr FULLER
np Washington D.C: By the Author, 1984. Condition: Very good +. Revised Edition. 4to. Printed card wraps. Crease to front wrapper and first few leaves of text, else very good or better. 335pp. Highly idiosyncratic, verging on obsessional, treatise on the nature, cause, and cures for racism (which the author calls "white supremacy," reflecting his view that racism only exists as a dynamic between "White" and "non-White" persons). Among Neely's more eccentric proposals is that homosexuality among non-Whites is the result of "acute insanity" brought on by the need to "compensate for fear of the Racist Man and Racist Woman." He also advocates assassination, which he calls "Maximum-Emergency Compensatory Justice," as a justifiable reaction to overt racist acts - provided it is followed by the immediate suicide of the assassin. Fuller is said to have been a strong influence on Public Enemy, especially their groundbreaking 1990 album FEAR OF A BLACK PLANET, where this book was officially cited in advance press releases and in album credits as an "influential inspiration." WorldCat gives 14 locations for this edition, adding two more for a 1964 printing.

Tom Clancy
Annapolis, MD: 1984. This is the ARC/Uncorrected Proof for The Hunt for Red October, Naval Institute Press, fist published in Oct, 1984. I have read that only 500 ARC/Proofs were printed and the first production run was only 5,000. 5,000. Signed on a bookplate laid in. The book is in Fine condition for its age, square and tight, and appears to be gently read but well taken care of. The plain Red (almost Burgundy) wraps are in beautiful condition, almost pristine. The pages and edges are clean and bright with no markings. It comes from a smoke-free home. There is an owner's Book Plate on the inside of the front wrap. Normally it is covered by the front flap and thus essentially invisible. The name has been blacked out but it is readable in a good light. A Book Plate signed by Clancy has been laid in for the new owner to do as they please with it. The special Dust Jacket, similar to the production DJ but made specially for the Proof, has the diagonal 'COMING THIS FALL!' yellow band and is in very good condition. The edges show wear and tear especially at the top and bottom of the spine, mainly because the DJ is larger than the book which has caused some crimping at the edges. There is a very small area of pink staining on the front flap but it has not bled through. It also appears that for some reason a 1/2" section running the width of the back flap has been purposely and cleanly removed. There are three clear pieces of tape on the inside of the jacket at the top and bottom of the spine and at the fold of the back flap where the section was removed. While I have not tried to … [Click Below for Full Description]

[E. B. WHITE] ELLEDGE, Scott
W. W. Norton, 1984. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo, 387pp. A very good copy with some foxing to the edges, clean internally. In a near fine dust jacket, slightly sunned on the spine. A magnificent copy, SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the subject, E. B. White, to a neighbor in Brooklin, Maine: "For Bob Fernald: whose students must love him, or they wouldn't have squandered their money on this weird tale. E. B. White." There is another inscription in another hand, which reads" From the 8th grade class of 1984." Fernald was a teacher and principal in the area. Most likely, a student took the book to White to have him sign it for Fernald as a class gift. We know of no other copies signed by E. B. White, and it's unlikely that there are many, as he died the next year at the age of 86. An excellent inscription. Very good / near fine. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; In Dust Jacket]

Willeford, Charles
St. Martin's Press, 1984. First Edition. INSCRIBED by Willeford on the front endpaper: "To John Melville / Sincerely / Charles Willeford." The first Hoke Mosley mystery, basis for the superb 1990 film starring Fred Ward, Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Jason Leigh, and arguably the best of the author's many fine novels. Fine and unread in an about Fine dust jacket. A touch of pinpoint rubbing at the corners of the jacket, else as nice a copy as one could imagine, an uncommon title to find signed. Art - Morellet, Francois
Buffalo: Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 1984. Paperbound quarto. 64 pp. Illustrated in both color and black and white. Scarce catalog from a 1984 - 85 traveling exhibition. With essays by Jan van der Marck and Charlotta Kotik. Morellet has signed his name over his printed name on that page and has then inked out a portion of the word "Sysytems" and used the remaining letters as part of his brief inscription There is some sticky remains from a small sticker shadow on the title page, otherwise this is a handsome very good or better copy. The prospectus, printed in two colors, features two wood engravings. Laid-into this copy are 4 additional prints from the Black Cat, signed and numbered 9/200, by Alan James Robinson. These I purchased separately from Mr. Robinson after buying the book directly from the Press in 1984. There is a fifth engraving that is attached permanently to the lid, this unsigned, unnumbered. Here is one of Poe's most macabre tales, beautifully printed and illustrated. It tells the story of a good kitty gone bad. But this kitty has cause, valid cause for revenge: his master has lost his grip on reality and gone mad, obsessing on his black cat and visiting various tortures on said cat. But cat will mew and have his day--and wh … [Click Below for Full Description]

BLAKE, Quentin; DAHL, Roald
1984. A large original ink and water colour painting on paper. 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" (19.5 x 25cm). Signed to the lower left hand corner. In very good, bright condition. A charming drawing by Dahl's most original and imaginative collaborator, Quentin Blake to illustrate a poem called "The Pig" by Roald Dahl. "In England once there lived a big And wonderfully clever pig. To everybody it was plain That Piggy had a massive brain. He worked out sums inside his head, There was no book he hadn't read, He knew what made an aeroplane fly, He knew how engines worked and why, He knew all this, but in the end One question drove him round the bend: He simply couldn't puzzle out What LIFE was really all about" LITERATURE: Dahl, Roald - Dirty Beasts (Cape, 1984) [Attributes: Signed Copy]
