Stephen King
fine in near fine slip case. Stephen King (1984) 'The Eyes of the Dragon', US signed limited edition, published by the Philtrum Press. Illustrated throughout by Kenneth R. Linkhauser. One of only 250 copies numbered in red, being no. 171, signed and inscribed to King's then-director of sales and marketing at Viking, for Connie Sarpe on the title page: "For Connie Sarpe - with best wishes - hope you'll like this little story and that your holidays will be pleasant - Stepehn King 12/1/84". Signed once more on the limitation page with: "Presented to Connie Sarpe". Condition: a fine copy in a near fine slip case with minimal shelf wear. The copies numbered in red rarely come up for sale as they were reserved to people close to Stephen King. Most of them are still in possession of those individuals. 'The Eyes of the Dragon', written for King's daughter Naomi was originally published by King's own Philtrum Press as a limited edition in 1984 before Viking published the tale as a mass market hardback with new illustrations by David Palladini. First and Fine.

Tom Clancy
Annapolis, MD: 1984. This is the ARC/Uncorrected Proof for The Hunt for Red October, Naval Institute Press, fist published in Oct, 1984. I have read that only 500 ARC/Proofs were printed and the first production run was only 5,000. 5,000. Signed on a bookplate laid in. The book is in Fine condition for its age, square and tight, and appears to be gently read but well taken care of. The plain Red (almost Burgundy) wraps are in beautiful condition, almost pristine. The pages and edges are clean and bright with no markings. It comes from a smoke-free home. There is an owner's Book Plate on the inside of the front wrap. Normally it is covered by the front flap and thus essentially invisible. The name has been blacked out but it is readable in a good light. A Book Plate signed by Clancy has been laid in for the new owner to do as they please with it. The special Dust Jacket, similar to the production DJ but made specially for the Proof, has the diagonal 'COMING THIS FALL!' yellow band and is in very good condition. The edges show wear and tear especially at the top and bottom of the spine, mainly because the DJ is larger than the book which has caused some crimping at the edges. There is a very small area of pink staining on the front flap but it has not bled through. It also appears that for some reason a 1/2" section running the width of the back flap has been purposely and cleanly removed. There are three clear pieces of tape on the inside of the jacket at the top and bottom of the spine and at the fold of the back flap where the section was removed. While I have not tried to … [Click Below for Full Description]

1984. Beyond cool, this is the single most limited and deluxe edition of Barfly available. Each of the 20 copies contains the original drawing that was used in the book. Finding original Bukowski line drawings for sale is next to impossible. Finding one that was used in a published work is even rarer. Finding the book and drawing together in this unique copy is as special as it gets. In many years of Bukowski collecting, this is only the second one of these I've ever seen. When the edition is limited to only 20 copies, it may not come around again for a long, long time. Book is in near-mint, unread condition. As good as it gets! No international shipping.
