Portable typewriter, Remington "Personal-Riter" by Sperry Rand, housed in a custom black case and was presented to Joe DiMaggio from the Yankees, with a plaque that reads "New York Yankees 28th Annual Old Timers Day Honoring New Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford August 3, 1984 Joe DiMaggio" Also, it is emblazoned with the Yankees logo. It includes the original Hunt Auctions "The Joe DiMaggio Collection" tag. Accompanying are the original owners manual and test inspection form, as well as a full page of typewriting, undoubtedly done by the "Yankee Clipper" himself, as it contains his own name and various other information pointing to him as the typist.

Printed as an homage to prematurely deceased artist, Wladimiro Melgarejo Munoz, who first engraved the literal transcription of the JUANA FIGUEROA, a poem and warning by Jorge Calvetti, on an original etching, mezzotint, and dry point in 1977 and printed this on his hand press with the co-operation of Samuel Cesar Palui. Entstanden ist das attraktive Gemälde entweder während Lahs' Aufenthalt in Kolumbien zwischen 1928 und 1930, oder nach seiner Flucht aus Deutschland nach Südfrankreich bzw. Jugoslawien und Albanien.. 1919 erhielt Lahs seine erste Einzelausstellung in der Galerie Flechtheim, Düsseldorf. 1921 folgte eine Ausstellung bei Frau Ey und er wurde Mitglied im Künstlerbund "Das Junge Rheinland" (1919-1929), später auch der "Rheingruppe" (1923 - ca. 1933 Düsseldorf). 1928 siedelte er nach Kolumbien über und wurde Direktor der Academia de Pintura in Medellin. Ab 1930 lehrte er an der Staatl. Kunstschule Berlin und wurde 1933 als "entartet" entlassen. Nach einer Schutzhaft gelang ihm die Flucht nach Südfrankreich, später nach Jugoslawien und Albanien. Fast das gesamt Frühwerk ist im Kriege verbrannt. Ab 1948 erhielt er eine Professur an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Berlin und gehörte in dieser Zeit zum "Freundeskreis der Galerie Gerd Rosen" in Berlin.

An excellent copy in the price-clipped jacket with faded spine panel. First edition, first impression, in the second state dust jacket as usual. The publisher initially printed the incorrect price on the jacket, and this error was resolved by clipping the jacket and applying a sticker for £9.95, as in this copy. Very few survived with the original price. An attractive copy of one of the most difficult Aubrey titles to find in nice condition. [Attributes: First Edition]

      . Öl auf Leinwand, doubliert, rechts unten signiert "Curt Lahs". 50:40 cm. Vergleichsliteratur: Ausst. Katalog: Großes Ey wir loben dich. Johanna Ey und ihr Künstlerkreis. Mit einem Text von Peter Barth aus dem Jahre 1984. Düsseldorf, Galerie Remmert und Barth., 2007, Nr. 104 mit Farbabbildung. Entstanden ist das attraktive Gemälde entweder während Lahs' Aufenthalt in Kolumbien zwischen 1928 und 1930, oder nach seiner Flucht aus Deutschland nach Südfrankreich bzw. Jugoslawien und Albanien.. 1919 erhielt Lahs seine erste Einzelausstellung in der Galerie Flechtheim, Düsseldorf. 1921 folgte eine Ausstellung bei Frau Ey und er wurde Mitglied im Künstlerbund "Das Junge Rheinland" (1919-1929), später auch der "Rheingruppe" (1923 - ca. 1933 Düsseldorf). 1928 siedelte er nach Kolumbien über und wurde Direktor der Academia de Pintura in Medellin. Ab 1930 lehrte er an der Staatl. Kunstschule Berlin und wurde 1933 als "entartet" entlassen. Nach einer Schutzhaft gelang ihm die Flucht nach Südfrankreich, später nach Jugoslawien und Albanien. Fast das gesamt Frühwerk ist im Kriege verbrannt. Ab 1948 erhielt er eine Professur an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Berlin und gehörte in dieser Zeit zum "Freundeskreis der Galerie Gerd Rosen" in Berlin.
