Librairie de Guillaumin 1983 - - Librairie de Guillaumin, Paris 1983, 13x21,5cm, relié. - Edition originale. [AUTOMATIC ENGLISH TRANSLATION FOLLOWS] First edition. Publisher's binding in full black cardboard, smooth back decorated with nets and cold boxes, framing of cold fillets on the plates, guards and contreplats of yellow paper, all golden edges.         Cycle of the Werewolf

(Westland): Land of Enchantment, (1983). (Westland): Land of Enchantment. (1983). Inscribed by King to his editor at Doubleday, Samuel Vaughan: "For Sam - Thanks for making something that could have been so hard so easy - and so successful. Quite a fall, huh? Your friend, Steve King/ 11/30/83." Vaughan had edited King's Pet Sematary, which had been published on 11/14/83 with a first printing announced as 500,000 copies. Cycle of the Werewolf is a single story by King, issued with illustrations by Berni Wrightson, who had collaborated with King on Creepshow. There was a signed limited edition of 250 copies; the trade edition, this one, had 7500 copies -- a tiny fraction of the numbers for Pet Sematary and King's other trade publications at that time. While the limited edition is scarcer in sheer numbers, our experience is that genuine Stephen King association copies are much rarer than his signed limiteds. Slight corner taps, else fine in a near fine dust jacket with one very small edge chip and some minor edge wear. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine.

Inscribed by the author, this time to Bob and Donna Jackson, "charter members of the Johnson family, with memories of hospitality." The dust jacket flap copy writes "The original title of this book was The Johnson Family, a turn-of-the-century expression used to designate good bums and thieves, which was later elaborated into a code of conduct." Kim Carsons, the protagonist of this book, is a Johnson, and an "agent of the Johnson code." Fine in a fine dust jacket, with just a tiny nick at the crown.         STICK. REVISED FIRST DRAFT OF THE SCREENPLAY OF THE SAME NAME

Universal City Studios, Inc., 1983., Universal City - Revised first draft of the screenplay. 4to. 8 1/2" x 11" stiff, green printed wrappers, 254 brad-bound pages. The screenplay is signed by Elmore Leonard on the title page. Fine, bright copy. The 1985 film starred Burt Reynolds and was also directed by him. During the filming, Leonard became dissatisfied with Reynold's interpretation of the novel and in a five-page photocopied 1984 letter to the director that is laid-in, he weighed in at length on why he was disappointed, and says in part : "What happens is that when I'm writing I see real people and hear real people talking. But when I view I see, too often, actors acting, actors hitting the wrong word, mugging, overstating or elaborating on a punch line, ad-libbing cliches, setting a record for the frequent use of 'asshole.' I hear what seems to me too many beats between exchanges, pauses for reactions, smiles for the benefit of the audience -- like saying, get it? --- or sneers or wide-eyed looks that I don't see in real life." Fine, bright, unused copy. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Soft Cover]

        Rage

UK First Edition, First Printing (New English Library, 1983). A scarce first edition and the first Stephen King wrote under the 'Richard Bachman' pseudonym. The novel was first published in the US in 1977 and was later included in the hardcover omnibus 'The Bachman Books', published in 1985. Given that the novel describes a school shooting, it has been associated with actual high school shootings that occurred in the 80s and 90s. In response, Stephen King allowed the book to go out of print in 1997 and later published an anti-firearms essay in 2013 under the title 'Guns'. In very fine, unread condition. Free from tears and creases.
