The Foundation Press, New York, 1978. First edition of the legal scholar's classic treatise on constitutional law. Quarto, original red boards. In near fine condition, issued without a dust jacket. Signed by the author, "For ______, For in the end, is it not fitting that a book about the Constitution should close by studying what the Constitution is not about? Laurence H. Tribe June 2009." KOOLHAAS, Rem
New York: Oxford University Press, 1978. Near fine in a near fine jacket with a short edge tear and a few tiny nicks. Pleasing copy.. First Edition. Quarto. Koolhaas's immensely influential "retroactive manifesto" for Manhattan architecture. The dust jacket image is a painting by Madelon Vriesendorp, Koolhaas's wife. In it the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building, their forms softened like a pair of Dalí watches, lie together in bed in apparent post-coital exhaustion while Rockerfeller Center, playing the jealous husband in this surreal architectural drama, emerges from a doorway at stage left and shines his spotlight onto the guilty pair. 1978. Condition: Like New. the 3rd edition is the first authoritative pocket color book to appear in English covering the essentials of color practice including an international dictionary of colors with British standards and Munsell equivalents. Includes color plates and finder. Much of the effort of forensic scientists is directed towards establishing the possibility of a relationship between two or more items. The approaches vary, but generally, after a visual comparison, the items are subjected to several physical and chemical tests. In the case of paint samples, a visual examination will afford information as to the color [1], layer structure [2], thickness, pigment distribution, and so on. Subsequent tests could include pyrolysis gas chromatography [3] to establish the resin type and infrared spectroscopy [4,5] to examine both the paint vehicle and pigment. The visual examination of paint samples is one of the most valuable tests as it is easily and inexpensively carried out, affords high discrimination, and is nondestructive. 20 YEARSSELLINGon Ebay ALL MY LOTS ARE NO FAULTS UNLESS LISTED and everything is guaranteed to please so if you dont like it, email me and i will make it right, after all everyone makes mistake - the difference is that I work hard to fix mine. Back in 1978 Rolling Stone put an ad in their magazine to sell these bound volumes. I bought everyone they had in that ad. I have never read them. They have been gently moved every time I have moved. This is a non-smoking home they are free of odor! They are in really good condition. The only person who went through these volumes is Robbie Stienehart from Kansas. He was just checking to see the stories on his band. And it was only a couple of them. One volume printed weird and the pages don't line up. We should see it in the pictures. I will gladly separate these if you just want one volume but it would be $200 per volume. Treat yourself take them all! 211-220 1976 221-230 1977 171-180 1975 201-210 1976 142-150 1973 191-209 1975 181-190 1975 136-141 1973 161-170 1974 151-160 1974.

1978. Condition: Like New. I brought this vintage martial arts book from Japan. It is the book written by Morihei Ueshiba who was the founder of one of the Japanese traditional martial arts, Aikido. Morihei Ueshiba had written 2 books "武道 (Budo)" and this "武道練習 Budo Training in Aikido". This is one of them and rare to find even in Japan especially with this condition. This book is for somebody has been training Aikido wants to learn the original Aikido techniques or a vintage martial arts book collector. There are 166 techniques with illustration with English and Japanese explanation. It is nice vintage Japanese style book with hard case. Original pricing at that time was 13,000 yen which is about $120. You may surprize this pricing but this is the current right value of this book in Japan. I won't be able to accept return for this book since any damage will affect the value of this kind of book. So please carefully take a look at the photos and let me know if you have any question. Tim O'Brien
New York: Delacorte / Seymour Lawrence, 1978. The covers are sunned, and the spine is somewhat askew, still about a Like New copy. To be published by Delacorte / Seymour Lawrence, this is NOT the published edition, but the paperback bound galleys (here called Uncorrected Proof) in plain wrappers, preceding the trade edition. In a protective mylar wrapper. 344 pp. Signed "Peace, Tim O'Brien." The covers are sunned, and the spine is somewhat askew, still about a Like New copy. Proofs/advance reader copies are considered the 'true' first edition by many collectors. Since they are produced in relatively small numbers, they are highly desirable. Usually even scarcer, bound galleys, when present, precede proofs and advance reader copies. In a blend of reality and fantasy, this novel tells the story of a young soldier who one day lays down his rifle and sets off on a quixotic journey from the jungles of Indochina to the streets of Paris. In its memorable evocation of men both fleeing from and meeting the demands of battle, Going After Cacciato stands as much more than just a great war novel. Ultimately it's about the forces of fear and heroism that do battle in the hearts of us all. A National Book Award-winning novel and a key title in the literature of the Vietnam War. By the author of If I Die in a Combat Zone, The Things They Carried, and In the Lake of the Woods. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]

Fonda, Henry
New York: September 22, [1978]. 2-page ALS penned just two weeks before the successful Broadway opening of First Monday in October (Fonda's last live stage appearance). Written on letterhead from The Wyndham hotel in New York along with envelope addressed to James Stewart at his Beverly Hills, CA address. Housed in custom half-tan leather over cream linen clamshell box. Included is the book "Hank & Jim: The Fifty-Year Friendship of Henry Fonda and James Stewart" by Scott Eyman. Henry Fonda and James Stewart were best friends for 50 years. Roommates in New York as young 20-somethings and later in Hollywood, the two Oscar winners' friendship lasted through war, marriage(s), children, careers and everything else. In this chatty 2-page letter, Fonda confesses 'I have been haunted by guilt that I was never able to find the time to work with you on the glider - but I really had been looking forward to it - Please don't give up on me though I won't blame you if you start without me -' He invites Stewart to join him for dinner in New York and gossips about their old friend Josh Logan ('who's in great shape') and Jack Lemmon (he's stupendous! Incredible! You mustn't miss it -') before closing urging Stewart to 'try to stretch (your visit) if you can -'Two Hollywood legends and life-long friends - at ease.
