Bust Portrait of Joyce Carol Oates, signed ("Joyce Carol Oates")

[New York]: Pach Brothers, n.d. [c. 1978?]. (OATES, JOYCE CAROL) 9-1/4 x 6-1/4 inches (image). Silver print mounted on studio's board, signed on mount by the author (in ink), and stamp-signed by the studio. Mount slightly chipped, image fine . A fine, early, portrait of the young author -- one of America's most gifted writers of the latter half of the 20th century -- by the historic commercial New York photography studio, the Pach Brothers. Oates won the National Book Award in 1970 for her novel, THEM, and the photograph was probably taken around the time of her emergence as a major literary figure. An unusual image of Oates in formal pose, WITHOUT THE GLASSES, and rarely seen

Buchzustand: Neu. London, British Museum, Nr. 10.470 gegen 1300 v. Dynastie, wurde also gegen 1300 v.

Dondelinger, Koblenz.. Standardausgabe in Leinenmappe mit beilieg. Kommentarband, neuwertig..

It is an ideal which I hope to live for and achieve, but if need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

        100 Nights at the Roxy

London: Michael Dempsey, 1978. First Edition. Softcover.. Near Fine. 4to, 96pp. Printed wraps as issued. Text in English. Numerous Colour and Black & White plates. Very minor wear to edges. Complete, tight, uncreased, probably the nicest copy I've ever handled. More images available on request. A legend. Most copies fall apart or have pages missing. The ultimate punk book. Of course everybody, and I mean everybody, is there, either performing or as a punter, but what's even better is the rest of the people. The whole place is documented fairly meticulously (mainly by Ridgers, who knew what he was doing). A full and detailed portrait of the birth of punk. Never been bettered.
