USA: Bhaktivedanta Book Trust, 1978. Very good condition - book is slightly discolored with age, structurally excellent. Some black marks on the back cover as shown. This book, entitled "The Spiritual Master and the Disciple" is a very rare, limited printing, first printing book which was compiled by Subhananda dasa bramacari and published by the BBT. New York, Doubleday, 1978. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A near fine copy. In our opinion, King's Magnum Opus. A post-apocalyptic tale of good and evil. Rumoured to be returning in a (second) TV adaptation. Spine tips a touch bumped, one short, closed tear to lower spine, a couple shorter to the top. Rear flap reinforced with tape, but not too bad. Short closed tear to top of rear flap. Nothing else of note, just a little handling wear. Cover art by John Cayea [7336, Hyraxia Books].All items will be packed in bubble-wrap and either a cardboard book-wrap or a box where appropriate. Items over £200 will be shipped fully tracked, insured and will require a signature. If you'd like this service on cheaper items please utilise the expedited shipping. Charles Bukowski
Santa Barbara, CA: Black Sparrow Press, 1978. Check out a complete & thorough description in the item's listing. Thanks! Hello! I'm Jim Camp, owner/operator of the synaesthesia press. I'm a letterpress printer; I publish work by authors I find interesting from time to time; I make pictures; and, finally, I'm a bookseller. As far as selling books the synaesthesia press didn't publish, I've been collecting for 30+ years, and most of what I'm going to start offering here I've held for at least a couple of decades...some longer. It's time these titles found a new home. If you're a collector, you might score, and if you're a dealer, you might grab something you can flip. I always try to describe the books I'm selling as fairly and reasonably as possible, tending to be a little hard on the book -- as opposed to selling something you may not be happy with. After all, condition is everything. Good luck! OFFERING: CHARLES BUKOWSKI. WOMEN. Santa Barbara, CA: The Black Sparrow Press, 1978. VG+ in glassine DJ as published. Copy 51 of the 300 issued, this is a beautiful copy with one tiny flaw that isn't easy to explain: the colophon page appears as if it had been adhered to the page immediately in proceeding and following, creating a small, 1/2" tear to the upper-left, topmost part of that page when the book was initially opened. (I know, as I was the one who opened it and caused the tiny tear some 30 years ago after purchasing it from noted BSP collector and bookman Ben Sackheim). It's a flaw that could be easily missed (and is 100% imperceptible unless the book is opened to that spec … [Click Below for Full Description]

Tim O'Brien
New York: Delacorte / Seymour Lawrence, 1978. The covers are sunned, and the spine is somewhat askew, still about a Like New copy. To be published by Delacorte / Seymour Lawrence, this is NOT the published edition, but the paperback bound galleys (here called Uncorrected Proof) in plain wrappers, preceding the trade edition. In a protective mylar wrapper. 344 pp. Signed "Peace, Tim O'Brien." The covers are sunned, and the spine is somewhat askew, still about a Like New copy. Proofs/advance reader copies are considered the 'true' first edition by many collectors. Since they are produced in relatively small numbers, they are highly desirable. Usually even scarcer, bound galleys, when present, precede proofs and advance reader copies. In a blend of reality and fantasy, this novel tells the story of a young soldier who one day lays down his rifle and sets off on a quixotic journey from the jungles of Indochina to the streets of Paris. In its memorable evocation of men both fleeing from and meeting the demands of battle, Going After Cacciato stands as much more than just a great war novel. Ultimately it's about the forces of fear and heroism that do battle in the hearts of us all. A National Book Award-winning novel and a key title in the literature of the Vietnam War. By the author of If I Die in a Combat Zone, The Things They Carried, and In the Lake of the Woods. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]

Stephen King (1978) 'Night Shift', US first edition, first printing, published by Doubleday. Signed and inscribed by King on the ffep: "For Ron - Best [signature] 6/9/80". All first issue points present: 'First edition' on the copyright page as well as the correct gutter code S52 on page 336. Dust jacket priced at $8.95. Condition: Fine and practically mint. An unread copy, all is tight and square, no previous owner's scribbles. Page block white like snow, no foxing anywhere, no lean, no rubbing, no bumping. The Dust jacket is fine as well remarkably well preserved with no issues to speak of. No chipping, no tears. One of the best condition copies to come on the market. Only approximately 12,000 first edition copies were printed (even 'Carrie' King's first book, 'Salem's Lot' and 'The Shining' had larger first print runs) making this one of the scarcest King first edition books to find especially in that condition. Overall 'Night Shift' was King's fifth book and the first anthology containing many short stories later adapted for TV and cinema. Nominated for the 1979 World Fantasy and Locus Award. Charles Bukowski
Cambridge, MA: Pomegranate Press, 1978. fine. This is a beautifully famed copy of this limited edition broadside which is signed by both Bukowski and the artist. It is large and fragile so $50 of the shipping cost I am adding to the starting price (since eBay only allows $6 and shipping will be MUCH more on this). Also I have reduced International shipping by $50. At auction recently one of these, unframed, sold for $720. So roughly speaking you can get this one for about the same price, plus shipping but it is nicely framed. It is copy #42. This is listed in Krumhansl as #65. [Attributes: Signed Copy]

1978. Condition: Very Good. Extremely RARE Signed First Edition by Rem Koolhaas! Rem Koolhaas's celebration and analysis of New York depicts the city as a metaphor for the incredible variety of human behavior. At the end of the nineteenth century, population, information, and technology explosions made Manhattan a laboratory for the invention and testing of a metropolitan lifestyle -- "the culture of congestion" -- and its architecture. "Manhattan," he writes, "is the 20th century's Rosetta Stone . . . occupied by architectural mutations (Central Park, the Skyscraper), utopian fragments (Rockefeller Center, the U.N. Building), and irrational phenomena (Radio City Music Hall)." Koolhaas interprets and reinterprets the dynamic relationship between architecture and culture in a number of telling episodes of New York's history, including the imposition of the Manhattan grid, the creation of Coney Island, and the development of the skyscraper. Delirious New York is also packed with intriguing and fun facts and illustrated with witty watercolors and quirky archival drawings, photographs, postcards, and maps. The spirit of this visionary investigation of Manhattan equals the energy of the city itself. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]
