Included with the original screenplay are two original publicity stills of Travolta dancing at the 2001 Odyssey Disco in Brooklyn, New York with original Paramount Studio promo snipes on the reverse. The script is complete and in Very Good condition (light wear, some light stains to the cover), the original promotional photographs are Fine.. Original Manuscript. Original Wraps. Very Good.

Presentation copy, additionally inscribed by the author on the title page: "To Baily / Main Stay - / Billy Collins / Aug 77." Hand bound by Steven and Meryl Chayt in Japanese stab binding with exposed sewing, in the publisher's pictorial gray paper wrappers illustrated with a silkscreen print after an original photograph by Judy Lane. Around the same time, Collins was dubbed the "most popular poet in America" by Bruce Weber of The New York Times.. Inscribed by Author. 1st Edition. Fine. Illus. by Lane, Judy.

The text is by the Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty's Kaiyuan era Wang Zhihuan (688-742). & & "... the beauty of Chen Yi's beguiling and animated setting of 'Let's Reach a New Height' comes from the way her music interacts with the vivid verbal imagery, a metaphorical take on a Tang dynasty poem about striving higher in years to come." Anthony Tommasini in a New York Times Review, October 23, 2013& & "Sent to the countryside as a labourer during the Cultural Revolution, she kept her violin with her, entertaining farmers with melodies from ‘revolutionary operas’ condoned by the Gang of Four and practising Western repertory when she was alone. After returning home at the age of 17, she served as leader and composer for the local Beijing opera troupe. She studied composition with Wu Zuqiang and visiting professor Alexander Goehr at the Central Conservatory in Beijing when it reopened in 1977... Her honours have included awards from the Guggenheim, Ford, Rockefeller, Alpert, Fromm and Koussevitzky foundations, and the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters.         [Original Promo Poster for US Release of NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS...]

Los Angeles: Warner Bros., 1977. First Edition. Very good. 33" x 24" approx. color poster printed verso only. Folded in sixths, presumably as issued. Some wear at edges. Very good. Original 1977 promotional poster for the US release of the Sex Pistol's only studio album NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS HERE'S THE SEX PISTOLS. Featuring a large B&W image of Rotten with a smaller photo inset of the band and a two line quotation from "No Future" ("We're the flowers in the dustbin..."), the poster lacks the signature Jamie-Reid designed intensity of the Pistols' UK promotional items. Warner Brothers Records signed the Pistols in October 1977 and released BOLLOCKS less than a month later - rushing the album into print in order to capitalize on the various UK Pistols controversies as well as the band's upcoming (and ultimately aborted) US tour. Scarce. Not in Burgess and Parker, but reproduced in Savage's ENGLAND'S DREAMING (see color photo inset).

        The Wind in the Willows

London: Methuen Children's Books,, 1977. Illustrations by Arthur Rackham. Introduction by A. A. Milne. Octavo (223 × 150 mm). Contemporary green calf by Bayntun, spine gilt in compartments with tools based on the novel's characters, black morocco labels, gilt tool to upper board depicting Mole, Toad, and Mouse, marbled endpapers, double-line rules to boards, turn-ins, and all edges gilt. Colour frontispiece and 11 plates by Arthur Rackham. A few minor scuffs to binding. An excellent copy. A handsomely bound copy of the Rackham edition of Wind in the Willows. Rackham had been asked to illustrate the first edition of the book in 1908, but was already committed to illustrating A Midsummer Night's Dream and turned Grahame down. It was a decision he regretted for much of the rest of his life, until given the opportunity to illustrate the book for the Limited Editions Club in the late 1930s. First published in 1940, his illustrations for this children's classic would be his last, and one of his most loved, sets of illustrations.

FREE THE WILMINGTON 10. RALLY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE U.S.A. featuring Angela Davis, Co-Chairperson ? National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, Friday July 8, 1977 [poster]

      - Milwaukee: Milwaukee Alliance Against Racial and Political Repression, 1977. Original, unbacked poster, 11 x 17." Staple holes in corners with a tiny tear to upper left corner where staple was removed. Horizontal fold line, else near fine. Signed by the collector, J. W. Miller; from his collection of about 100 posters collected in the 1970s around the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The Wilmington Ten were nine young men and a woman, who were convicted in 1971 in Wilmington, North Carolina of arson and conspiracy, and served nearly a decade in jail. The case became an international cause in which many critics of the city's actions characterized the activists as political prisoners. In 1980 in Chavis v. State of North Carolina, (4th Cir., 1980), the convictions were overturned by the federal appeals court, on the grounds that the prosecutor and the trial judge had both violated the defendants' constitutional rights. In May 2012, Benjamin Chavis and six surviving members of the group petitioned North Carolina governor Beverly Perdue for a pardon. The NAACP was supporting the pardon, as well as compensation to be paid to the men and their survivors for their years in jail. On December 22, 2012 The New York Times published an editorial titled, "Pardons for the Wilmington Ten" that urged Governor Perdue to "finally pardon" the group of civil rights activists. Perdue granted a pardon of innocence on December 31, 2012, which qualified each of the ten to state compensation of $50,000 per year of incarceration. None in commerce (2013); no locations in OCLC.

The Book of Sand [Signed Uncorrected Proof] [El libro de arena]

New York: E. P. Dutton, 1977. First edition. Wrappers. Fine. A Fine copy of the Uncorrected Proof for the first US edition, in the Publisher's original mustard wrappers (slight soil to the spine where a label may once have been, prior seller's pencil notes to the half-title), SIGNED BY JORGE LUIS BORGES on the half-title; a collection of 13 short stories, a book which Borges wrote while blind and considered to be his best work. Of "The Book of Sand" he stated: "I have wanted to be loyal, in these exercises of a blind man, to the example of Wells: the conjunction of a plain style, sometimes almost oral, and an impossible argument." The collection is notable for several of its stories, including "The Congress" of which Borges said: "If of all my stories I had to save one, I would probably save the "The Congress", which at the same time is the most autobiographical (the one richest in memories) and the most imaginative." Signed copies of the book are extraordinarily scarce to the market. A Fine copy of the UNCORRECTED PROOF FOR ONE OF JORGE LUIS BORGES' MOST IMPORTANT WORKS, SIGNED BY JORGE LUIS BORGES. RARE.

[Original Silkscreened Promo Banner for U.S. Release of NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS...]

Los Angeles: Warner Bros., 1977. First Edition. Fine. Color silkscreen on fabric, 28" x 34.5" approx. Sewn at top to allow for display via dowel. Fine condition. Bright and clean. Original 1977 promotional banner for the US release of the Sex Pistol's only studio album NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS HERE'S THE SEX PISTOLS. Featuring the iconic album cover (front, back and spine) designed by Jamie Reid silkscreened onto nylon fabric, the latter state with "Submission" included on the rear cover. "The sleeve caused quite a stir when it came out, partly because it appeared shoddy and partly because it didn't feature and picture of the band, instead appearing as some obscure, anonymous manifesto" (Savage and Reid, UP THE RISE p. 79). Warner Brothers Records signed the Pistols in October 1977 and released BOLLOCKS less than a month later - rushing the album into print in order to capitalize on the various UK Pistols controversies as well as the band's upcoming (and ultimately aborted) US tour. Scarce. Not in Burgess and Parker.
