Ellen Stewart
New York: Condition: 14 x 22 inches to 22 x 32 inches, Very Good to Near Fine and rolled except "Quarry," which is folded with toned edges, minor soiling, and a small repaired tear at the verso. Archive of four posters from productions hosted by La Mama Experimental Theatre Club, including "Fragments of a Trilogy" (Andrei Serban & Elizabeth Swados, 1975), "A Rat's Mass" (Adrienne Kennedy & Cecil Taylor, 1976), "Anais" (Tom O'Horgan, 1976), and "Quarry" (Meredith Monk, 1976). Founded in 1961 by African-American "Off-Off Broadway" pioneer Ellen Stewart, La Mama ETC became home for the underfunded and the underrepresented, giving theatre innovators, such as Sam Shepard, Philip Glass, and Tom O'Horgan, a space to develop their art. Stewart offered her space to numerous artists at different stages in their career, and La Mama ETC became the epicenter of creative culture from widely varied backgrounds. Represented are performances by legends and unknowns working together while promoted by Stewart and her company during the furiously productive 1975 and 1976 seasons. "Fragments of a Trilogy" paired Romanian immigrant Andrei Serban with composer Elizabeth Swados. Black Art Movement member Adrienne Kennedy's drama "A Rat's Mass" was staged by jazz musician Cecil Taylor. Composer Meredith Monk utilized the La Mama Annex space for her opera "Quarry." After productions of "Hair" and "Jesus Christ Superstar," Tom O'Horgan returned to the La Mama stage for "Anais: A Dance of Words Based on the Diaries of Anais Nin" conceived with Judson Dance Theater performer Victor Lipari.

Choi Kyu-hah to Jimmy Carter's Sister 1980
1976. Used - very good - an excellent tight copy in a good slip cover - slip cover shows some wear and slight smudges from use. Up for Sale: 5,000 Years of Korean Art Publisher: National Museum of Korea Description: Hard copy with slip cover - Illustrated with 218 color plates - 341 Pages Condition: used, very good - an excellent tight copy in a good slip cover - slip cover shows some wear and slight smudges from use. Signed by the President of the Republic of Korea, Choi Kyu-hah Inscribed by the President of the Republic of Korea to Ruth Carter Stapleton (the sister of President Jimmy Carter) **Signature is guaranteed to be authentic - this volume was purchased from the estate of Ruth Carter Stapleton in Fayetteville, North Carolina after her death. Choi is the family name or surname and appears at the end of the signature (as seen in the photo in this listing) in modern Korean culture that has been influenced by the West. In formal or traditional communication in Korea, it is presented in front of the given or first name (as presented in the title of this listing). The signature in this volume does not appear as his signature on Korean documents. On the Korean documents it is most likely the Hangul version of his signature. It is assumed since the recipient spoke English and he was inscribing in English, that he inscribed it in romanized fashion for clear understanding(The romanization of Korean is a system for representing the Korean language using the Latin script). About the late Choi Kyu-hah - Choi Kyu-hah (July 16, 1919 - October 22, 2006) was the fourth President of … [Click Below for Full Description]

Brindabella Press: McAULEY, James.
Canberra: Officina Brindabella, 1976. Canberra: Officina Brindabella. 1976. #24 of 230 copies, signed by the printer/publisher Alec Bolton. Tall 8vo. 44pp. Black cloth with mylar dustwrapper. A nice clean copy in fine condition. Loosely inserted is the small card from McAuley's funeral (15 October 1976), with an inscription on its rear from the poet's wife, presenting the book to his friend and colleague Judith Williams. Her lightly pencilled name is at the head of the half-title. *** 'Published after our old friend's death... Many copies were bought by his friends, and few have come onto the market - this is one of the hardest Brindabella books for collectors to find' (Alec Bolton, in Michael Richards' A Licence to Print, p23). Apparently 40 of the 230 were destroyed while printing (publisher's annotation on copy sold at Australian Book Auctions in 2007). .

The text is a facsimile of Crowley's 1904 first edition. Unlike the Magickal Childe (and other similar HC editions of the Goetia which were all published a decade or more later), this edition originally had Red print on the black cloth covers, which made it instantly recognizable. This particular copy was one of a series of experimental custom rebindings of important grimoires, which was undertaken by the Hell Fire Club a number of years ago. They were never published in limited edition quantities as official Hell fire Club releases, but were one-of-a-kind & unique experimental bindings, which were only offered privately to certain subscribers.
