      Raamin Presse Hamburg: Raamin-Presse, 1976. Quarto. (40)pp. From an edition of 170, this is one of twenty copies with an additional two plates signed and numbered by the printer and illustrator, Roswitha Quadflieg. Translated into German from the original French by Elmar Tophoven, the short story "L'Expulsé" ("The Expelled") first appeared in Fontaine in 1946 and was reprinted in the collection Nouvelles et Textes pour rien in 1955. The text is accompanied by eleven woodcuts by Quadflieg, which illustrate elements from the story, including the stairs down which the narrator is expelled, his hat, and the rather large old woman upon whom he falls. Bound by Christian Zwang in grayish-brown Fabriano paper blind-stamped on the spine and boards. Fine.

A fine copy in a nearly fine gold foil dust jacket with a touch of rubbing at head and heel of spine panel and upper corner tips and some faint scratches to front and rear panels.

      Houghton Mifflin Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1976. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine (with a closed tear at the top of the front panel). Signed by Robbins in green ink on the half-title page. His second, and most famous book. Basis for the big screen film (1993). Tells the tale of Sissy Hankshaw, a woman born with a mutation (she would not call it a defect) giving her enormously large thumbs. This novel is a transgressive romp, covering topics from homosexuality and free love to drug use and political rebellion to animal rights and body odor and religions. Sissy makes the most of her thumbs by becoming a hitchhiker.

Bottom edge spine cloth slightly pushed and nboard edges with beginning toning. Near Fine condition in a Very Good dustjacket that has two small closed tears, minimal edgewear, mostly at the spine bottom edge fold, and shallow creasing on the rear panel upper edge.       Aloes Books London: Aloes Books. 1976. First. First edition. Octavo. String-tied red printed wrappers. Fine. Twenty-two poems written alternately by Smith and Verlaine. This is copy number 13 of 22 hand-numbered copies with a Rimbaud piece Signed by Patti Smith bound in. The colophon indicates that there were 25 copies signed by both poets, but Verlaine signed none, and the handwritten limitation seems to indicate that there were 22 copies rather than either the 25 stated, or the 20 we've heard speculated. Rare. .
