These copies are from the library of Pynchon's editor, Ray Roberts, with his book label on the inside cover of each volume. Roberts was an influential editor with Viking, Henry Holt, and then Little, Brown, and he worked closely with John Fowles, Martha Grimes, Thomas Pynchon, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. He began editing Pynchon when the latter went to Little, Brown, starting with his book Slow Learner. Further details available upon request. .

      Leipzig, Schwickertscher Verlag, 1794 – 1795 (Unveränderter Neudruck, Graz, Akademische Druck- und Verlagsanstalt, 1972 – 1976). - Hauptwerk des Ansbacher Historikers und Lexikographen Friedrich Karl Gottlob Hirsching (1762 – 1800). Hirsching war ein Universalgelehrter in der Tradition seiner Zeit; neben seinem angestammten Studium der Rechtswissenschaften und Geschichte betrieb er auch akademische Studien in Naturwissenschaften (Naturkunde, Botanik) und Ökonomie. Sein historisch-literarisches Handbuch gilt bis heute als eines der profundesten biographischen Nachschlagewerke zum 18. Jahrhundert. Das Werk ist heute im Original kaum erhältlich und auch in der Nachdruck-Ausgabe sehr selten. Der Gesamtumfang beträgt ca. 12.500 Seiten de 20000 Buchrücken etwas aufgehellt. Einige Deckel – als Folge der Folienentfernung – etwas klebrig. Dieses Problem ließe sich am besten durch erneuten Folieneinschlag lösen. Sonst die Bände in gutem, unversehrtem Zustand, auch innen sauber. Gutes Exemplar des äußerst seltenen, sehr aufschlußreichen Werkes zur Personengeschichte. Original rice-paper wrappers in Japanese-style binding with an original collage by Emmanuel Navaretta reading "Jargon 25" measuring 4" x 5", pasted to the front cover with original unprinted mylar dustwrapper. Very good with rubbing at the edges of the wrappers and some bumping at one corner; the jacket is good with a three-inch tear, a few scattered nicks, and several small- to medium-sizes chips. The original signature book used by Williams on his peripatetic caravan of events and gatherings relating to the Jargon Society's 25th Anniversary celebration in 1976. The book is titled in red on the front wrap in Williams' hand and contains approximately 550 Signatures, along with additional quotations, notes, and drawing from various authors, artists, and friends related to Jargon.         Watership Down

      Harmondsworth: Penguin Books & Kestrel Books,, 1976. Illustrated by John Lawrence. Octavo (230 × 152 mm). Original dark green crushed morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, spine lettered in gilt, compartments with raised bands and gilt motifs, rabbit vignette to front board in gilt, edges and turn-ins gilt, marbled endpapers. Numerous illustrations in colour and black and white; a coloured folding map tipped-in at the rear. A little fading to the spine, otherwise a fine copy. Number 47 of 250 specially bound and signed copies of the first illustrated edition of Adams' first novel. This extremely popular animal story was initially turned down by all major publishing houses. When finally issued by Rex Collings in 1972, sales exceeded 100,000 in the first year and Adams was awarded both the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Award for children's fiction.

The FAR Gallery catalog for an exhibit of Marvin Hayes's etchings featuring 53 plates of scenes from the Bible. It includes a brief introduction written by poet James Dickey with an editorial note that he is working on the text for a full-length book; a book published the following year as *God's Images*. [With] it a TLS dated May 20, 1977 from Oxmoor House editor-in-chief, John Logue, to author, Peter Taylor soliciting his comments on Dickey's text for *God's Images* [with] 46 pages of Xerox copies of Dickey's typed manuscript introduction ("2nd draft"), the majority of the text with scattered differences from the final published version throughout. An interesting collaboration between a noted artist and writer further enhanced by its connection to a Taylor, a Pulitzer Prize-winning Southern author. [Attributes: Soft Cover]

Loose sheets and bifolia laid into folding cloth clamshell box with printed label. Box a bit sunned and lightly rubbed, otherwise about fine. First edition. Illustrated with twenty original woodcuts, printed from the block, with full margins, by the author. A sequence of loose adaptations of fables from Aesop and others, updated (often wickedly) for contemporary relevance, each accompanied by a corresponding wood engraving. One of one hundred numbered portfolios, printed by Harold McGrath at the Gehenna Press, signed by the author/artist on the colophon, and with each of the wood engravings numbered, titled and signed by Eichenberg in the margin. As this was not a formal publication of the Gehenna Press, it is not included in the bibliography.

Mit zahlreichen, oft farbigen Abbildungen. Komplett mit den vier Originallithographien von Jorn (davon eine als Buchumschlag). Diese waren bereits 1956 auf einem einzigen Blatt bei Permild & Rosengreen in Kopenhagen gedruckt worden. Der grössere Teil der Auflage wurde bis zur Verwendung der vier Grafken (Van de Loo Nrn. 43, 69, 187 und 188) im Werkverzeichnis von 1976 bei Jorns Freund Pierre Wemaere in Versailles aufbewahrt (Auskunft von P.W.) Es handelt sich also nicht, wie öfter angegeben, um zwei, sondern um vier Originallithos, was auch an der identischen Papierqualität zu erkennen ist. (Wir zeigen bei den Abbildungen das originale Blatt zur Information, es wurde 2011 im Handel angeboten, war, wie zu erkennen ist, nicht gut erhalten, ist aber aus dokumentarischen Gründen wichtig.)
