Daredevil Annual Vol. 1 Issue 4, page 14 "The Name of the Game Is. Death! / Chapter II And Who shall Save the Planet?"

Marvel Comics Group 1976 - Comic Book Synopsis: "Heather Glenn is waiting for Matt at J.F.K airport. He's returning from Los Angeles when Heather tells him that someone attempted to murder Foggy. In Holmsford, Connecticut, a plan is brewing to extort Robert Mallory, (who is the head of a law firm called Mallory Intertech), using his son for ransom. Mallory has come up with a way to use the ocean's tides as a power station, and the kidnappers want the plans for the ransom. Fresh off the plane, Matt goes on patrol in Hell's Kitchen, and learns that Namor has been ransacking the city in search of Mallory. Daredevil attempts to calm him, but is beaten quickly and left to lick his wounds. Coincidentally, T'Challa is in New York City on some official business when he gets a lead on Mallory's son. He begins tracking the lead as Black Panther and comes upon a group of thugs all arguing amongst themselves. He quickly learns that Ruffio Costa is the leader of the kidnappers, only to give his position away and become overpowered by the group of thugs, who hold him at gunpoint. Matt is researching the Tidal Power Plant information and learns why Namor is so agitated when he receives a call from the thugs wanting five million dollars for the release of T'Challa. Instead of the ransom, Matt plans on giving them a five million dollar beat down as Daredevil instead. He has Foggy put together five million in fake cash, and tells his friend to be careful not to get kidnapped as well, since there was recently an attempt on his life.On his way to deliver the beat-down, Daredevil runs into Namor again, who has been held up by the local authorities. Luckily, he saves an officer who was knocked off the bridge just as he gets there. Namor and Daredevil battle again, but this time, Daredevil wins. While waiting for rescue, T'Challa escapes and frees the Mallory boy as well. He decides to follow Costa's gang by riding on the top of their van. As Daredevil arrives at the drop off point, he sees that Panther is free, and they both beat down the gang for good measure. As they begin to depart to find Costa, Namor attacks them both. Not wanting another battle, Daredevil carefully talks Namor out of it, promising to keep Mallory from building the Tidal Power Plant. Namor reluctantly agrees. Panther and Daredevil track Ruffio down to the Barrington Research Center, where they square off against him. In the tussle, Ruffio is thrown into some machinery and blown up. He recovers from the accident with a new costume and mask, as well as his mind powers heightened infinitely. He has become the Mind Master! He takes control of Panther and attacks Daredevil, and in the fight, Daredevil is thrown into Mind Master, hitting him in the face. Enraged, Mind Master pools his mental energies to kill them both, shorting out his own mind in the process, reverting him back to Ruffio Costa. Daredevil easily knocks him out, and he and Black Panther part ways." ("Daredevil Annual Vol. 1 4" Marvel Wikia. Web. 6 March 2015) Page Synopsis: Namor and Daredevil are fighting, which results in a beaten Daredevil. The focus of the page then shifts to Black Panther and Mr. Mallory discussing saving Mallory's son or the tidal station.

The Collected Essays of Sir Winston Churchill, complete in four volumes

London: Library of Imperial History, 1976. First edition. Hardcover. This four-volume set is a compilation of most of Churchill's major forewords and periodical contributions, some of which can be otherwise found only in the original periodical publications. The essays are sorted by subject and each of the volumes has a theme - Churchill and War, Churchill and Politics, Churchill and People, and Churchill at Large. In addition to being bibliographically important, The Collected Essays are aesthetically appealing. The production quality is impressive. There were two publisher binding options for The Collected Essays - both sumptuous and one positively extravagant. The lesser of the two was bound in quarter blue morocco and is lovely, but does not match the other 34 volumes of The Collected Works. The more elaborate binding option was full natural calfskin vellum with individual green slipcases, matching the 34 volumes of the preceding Centenary Edition of Churchill's book-length works. The bindings feature Churchill's coat of arms stamped in gilt. The text is printed on special 500-year archival paper and decorated with marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, head and foot bands, and silk ribbon markers. Each volume is protected in a dark green leather slipcase with the Churchill coat of arms embossed in gilt on the front cover. Either binding of The Collected Essays is scarce, but this more elaborate binding is rarely seen alone, as it is essential to completing a uniform full set of The Collected Works. This set is fine in very good slipcases. The volumes are clearly unread. The bindings show no wear and have toned with grace and individual character, as the vellum bindings were intended to do. The contents are absolutely crisp and perfect, with pleasingly stiff bindings and satin ribbon markers still in the original position placed by the publisher. There are no previous ownership marks. The only defects we note in the volumes are tiny bumps to the Volume I & II upper front corners corresponding to bumps to the accompanying slipcases. The green leather slipcases show a few corner bumps and short (no more than .75 inch) splits starting at a few upper edges. Despite these small flaws, the slipcases remain bright, clean, and intact.         Pleasure Beach: A Book of Photography

New York: Eclipse 1976 - First Edition. Large oblong quarto. Underrated artist book by a photographer who worked more often in commercial jobs than a fine art context. Published same year as Eggleston's Guide, this technically innovative book uses an unusual color palette set on deep blacks that prefigures the graphic digital futurism of the 1980s. Labrot's experiments conjures images not unlike the photography of Lucas Samaras. The image and color laying processes anticipates the techniques and style of computer generated digital graphics. Fine in an almost fine jacket. Because if its size, true collector's copies are uncommon. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

Engravings by Leo Wyatt: Nine wood engravings of various aphorisms printed in white on different colored backgrounds, in the original blue portfolio with the artist's wood-engraved title; and a set, similarly housed, of four copper engravings of 17th Century quotations

Leo Wyatt, [Newcastle on Tyne 1976 - Rare Copper and Wood Engravings by Leo Wyatt Leo Wyatt's profession was that of designing and engraving steel dies and copper plates. In his late fifties, challenged by the assertion that famed English wood engraver Reynolds Stone was seemingly "the sole practitioner of the Chancery Cursive letter in engraved form today" he began to engrave lettterheads and bookplates on wood utilizing this classic letter form. He also created separate alphabets and engraved quotations, bringing samples with him on two trips to America, in 1977 and 1978 where he found a new popularity and market for his work, although suites of his engravings, such as those offered here, remain extremely rare. He died in 1981. One copperplate faintly toned, otherwise all very fine condition Each engraving is one of 75 copies, signed and dated by the artist in the lower margin. 1 vols. The images, of various sizes, average 8-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches, plus generous margins [Attributes: Signed Copy]

        Punk Magazine, Issues 1 through 6, 8 and 10

New York, 1976. First edition. Punk Magazine, issues 1 through 6, issue 8, issue 10. Eight issues total, all in very good or better condition, no rips or tears, no missing pages, mis-folds, or other annoyances. As is well known, there was no issue #9, making this is a nearly complete run of the first calendar year of publication. A snapshot of another time, when the lower east side of Manhattan was something other than a concentration of expensive condominiums, Duane Reade's and retail bank branches. Nice set.

Engravings by Leo Wyatt: Nine wood engravings of various aphorisms printed in white on different colored backgrounds, in the original blue portfolio with the artist's wood-engraved title; and a set, similarly housed, of four copper engravings of 17th Century quotations

[Newcastle on Tyne: Leo Wyatt, 1976. Each engraving is one of 75 copies, signed and dated by the artist in the lower margin. 1 vols. The images, of various sizes, average 8-1/2 x 6-1/2 inches, plus generous margins. One copperplate faintly toned, otherwise all very fine condition. Rare Copper and Wood Engravings by Leo Wyatt Leo Wyatt's profession was that of designing and engraving steel dies and copper plates.

        William Eggleston's Guide

New York: Museum of Modern Art, 1976. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine in boards; no jacket, as issued. Very slight edgewear, some slight but noticable rubbing and light scratching to the photographic inlay on the front board. This copy signed by the photographer on the title page. It seems like overkill to note that this title is in every major photography book survey--- i.e., Roth, Parr, Open Book. A bright, solid copy of a seminal title, one of the most important photography books ever published, and made all the better by the great man's signature.
