DRAGONFLY: VF/VF SIGNED RANDOM HOUSE US 1ST EDITION 1/1 - SIGNED WITH KOONTZ AND DWYER SIGNATURES

Random House, USA 1975 - If you are a discerning Koontz collector then this is the copy you are missing from your shelf. My own personal copy for many years, I am selling it because I need to trim down my collection and, as such, I am concentrating on the UK editions. Published by Random House in 1975 this book is SIGNED "DEAN R KOONTZ ALIAS K R DWYER." The jacket is Very Fine and unclipped - it states $7.95. The book is Very Fine aside from a negligible ding to the top back board, which can ONLY be seen when the jacket is removed. The copyright page states FIRST EDITION and then has the run of numbers 2-9, which is how Random House signified their first editions at that time. The page edges are beautiful and white, like they were printed yesterday. The book was published under the K R Dwyer pseudonym and this is reflected on the dust jacket, book and copyright page. A truly superb example of this title with a Koontz signature from the early 80s and at the time of listing the only 1st edition on ABE that is actually hand signed to the book itself.

Reading Myself and Others (Signed, Dated, Inscribed First Edition)

Farrar, Straus & Giroux, New York 1975 - First Printing. Boldly signed, inscribed, and dated in the year of publication by the author directly to the first endpage. The book is fine - but for the absolute slightest wear to the extremities - in a fine dust jacket, which is now protected by a removable Brodart archival cover. It comes from the esteemed modern first collection of Joy Kritzer. A beautiful collectible copy from the National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winning author, and a rather scarce Roth item that is anything more than flatsigned. I ship all of my books bubble-wrapped in sturdy, very well-padded boxes, so they are guaranteed to arrive in the exact same condition as when they left. Please feel free to email with any questions/offers/trades and thank you for supporting small independent booksellers everywhere. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears

New York: The Dial Press, 1975. New York: The Dial Press, 1975. First edition. Near Fine/Near Fine. A Nearly Fine copy of the book with just light sunning to the blue cloth at the board edges in a Near Fine dust jacket that has a small dampstain at the top of the spine and two small pinholes along the rear spine fold. Stated first printing on the copyright page and the dust jacket is correctly priced at $6.95, publisher clipped at bottom of the front flap (likely for the library price), and, most importantly, does not have the Caldecott Medal sticker attached to the jacket. Quite rare in this first state of the dust jacket. & & The well regarded children';s classic based on an African folk legend, masterfully illustrated by Leo and Diane Dillon. The picture book follows the story of a particularly deceitful mosquito, whose lie ends up inspiring a general panic. The book would win the 1976 Caldecott Medal for its artists, who then won another medal a year later for "Ashanti to Zulu: African Traditions." They are the only artists to win the award in consecutive years, and Leo Dillon was also the first African American winner of the award. "The Dillons'; work was characterized by stylistic diversity, with influences ranging over African folk art, Japanese woodcuts, old-master paintings and medieval illumination." (The New York Times). Near Fine in Near Fine. dust jacket.
