Millhauser followed with a second novel, Portrait of a Romantic (1977) and his first collection of short story In the Penny Arcade (1986). In 1997 he won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction for Martin Dressler. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]

TEN LITTLE NIGGERS (hardcover with original DJ)

Crime Club - Collins, London 1972 - HARDCOVER WITH ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET with price intact on the flap. DJ has Purple lettering on a faded pink cover. While the 10 little people on the cover are clearly depicted, the hand which is reaching over to pluck off one of the black characters has blended into the faded background color unless you look closely. The hand is white in color and the faded pink cover now looks cream so the contrast between the two has lessened. This is the highly collectible DJ with 10 little black characters, 2 holding a spear and one eating what appears to be a watermelon. 1.00 net price printed on inside front flap. THIS IS NOT A REPRODUCTION DJ. THIS DJ WAS ISSUED WITH THIS HARDCOVER BY COLLINS - CRIME CLUB. Originally published in 1939, this copy was printed in a tiny quantity before being pulled in 1972. DJ has a few small chips along edges and a small faint moisture cloud at bottom of backstrip that kind of blends in. Inside flap shows some discoloration along edge. Red cloth panels are bright with black lettering on spine. Book has been handled and read. corners rounded/bumped. small dent along one edge. Front free endpaper has a 1 inch chip at top corner. Endpaper has a matching discoloration line from the DJ flap edge. Green ink appears to say HS 10P with a line through it. Copyright page has a faint withdrawn stamp and a circular stamp stating Dudley Libraries. No other evidence of such. No other stickers, stamps, pockets etc on either book or DJ. Title changed from Ten Little Niggers to Ten Little Indians to And Then There Were None. This is one of the most sought after titles + DJ in modern book collecting. This story is now being read in middle/high schools. No shortage of interest on this title. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]

Report on Planet Three and Other Speculations

Victor Gollancz, London 1972 - First edition. Ownership signature of Ian Macauley, fine in a slightly spine-faded, near fine dustwrapper. Receipt from the publisher laid in. Inscribed by Arthur C. Clarke to his protege, one-time secretary, and longtime friend Macauley; "To Ian, who is welcome to steal any of it. Arthur. Lo. Aug 72." Macauley was the dedicatee of Clarke's first published hardcover novel, *Islands in the Sky*, and was an award-winning *New York Times* journalist. He also edited Clarke's book of collected essays, *Greetings, Carbon-Based Bipeds!* (2000). Clarke wrote the last chapter of *Childhood's End*, while visiting Macauley in Atlanta in 1952, where he was reportedly greatly influenced by their discussions. A nice association copy of this miscellany, mainly speculations on space, and some reprints of earlier essays. Macauley has made a pen emendation in the text, apparently while preparing the essays for the collected volume. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]

Ceylon Tea: Product of European Exploitation!

(see Cushing & Drescher, Agitate! Educate! Organize! 2009). Also issued in an open edition offset lithograph; original Garcia silkscreens are quite rare. Silkscreen in four colors, 26" x 20" (ca 66cm x 51cm). From an edition of approximately 75 copies, hand-signed and dated lower right. Clean, fresh example; tiny tack-holes and minor wear at corners, else Fine; Grade A/A-.
