Pierre KLOSSOWSKI, Maurice BEJART
Autograph letter signed by the writer Pierre Klossowski to choreographer Maurice Béjart, dated March 4, 1991 .29 lines written in black pen on a slip.Like a poem, this beautiful and enthusiastic missive was written in a long column of text. Klossowski congratulates the choreographer on his sudden death autobiography published the same year and marvels at the literary tastes of Béjart so similar to his own.Pierre Klossowski emphasizes in the letter the affinities that bind him to Béjart. He devotes a long passage to Sudden Death, the last work of Béjart on his famous father, the philosopher Gaston Berger: " The miraculous Anwesenheit [presence] such a father aroused by such a son ! To read to you, I feel this celebration in its filial piety, all of joyous certainty, at the Goethean cadence of the King of the Aulnes [...] . "He evokes their common passion for the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, before mentioning an old project Collaboration: " I do not forget your visit [...] or your idea of a ballet around an invisible Baphomet ... " A few years ago, the Baphomet had already been the subject of a project The letter concludes with an allusion to Klossowski's " exclusive pictorial work ": his immense production of drawings which occupies him until the end of his life.Pierre Klossowski's admiring letter on Béjart's writing skills and his literary influences.Provenance: Maurice Béjart's personal archives. 1950-1969. Medium: Oil This is an original oil on hard board painting measuring approximately 17 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches by American artist, Orville H. Soffa (active mid 20th century) attributed to the estate of esteemed collector Leo C. Guthman. The frame is approximately 21 5/8 x 15 7/8 inches and it would look even grander in a new frame. It is in excellent condition. There are obvious similarities between the artist and this woman. Note the similar composition in the background of the second to last picture. Mr. Soffa attended Milwaukee's prestigious Layton School of Art and also designed and made jewelry. He is listed in Who Was Who in American Art 1564-1975 400 Years of Artists in America. Dorny Bertrand
1969. Tiratura: E.A.

Elmore Leonard
USA: Doubleday. Super nice and few of prev. owner additions or damage. DJ is complete and unclipped. For consideration, offered here in a signed first printing is one of the late Elmore Leonard's early (1969) novels, "The Moonshine Wars," a narrative filled with suspense, action and a touch of the bizarre. Both the book and DJ are unblemished and come from a smoke-free environment. This handsome copy was gently read and show only the light handling and rubbing with only a hint of shelf wear. The scans are part of the description so please consult these. [Attributes: Signed Copy]

Mario Puzo
G. P. Putnam's Sons. The Godfather - 8th Impression 1969 Published by G. P. Putnam's Sons, NY. Inscribed & signed by Mario Puzo: "For Bruce, best regards Mario Puzo" Hardcover & dust Jacket. Library of Congress Catalog Eighth Impression. All my signed books comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by member of the UACC - Universal Autograph Collectors Club. The Godfather is a crime novel written by Mario Puzo, originally published in 1969 by G. P. Putnam's Sons. It details the story of a fictitious Sicilian Mafia family based in New York City and headed by Don Vito Corleone, who became synonymous with the Italian Mafia. The novel covers the years 1945 to 1955, and also provides the back story of Vito Corleone from early childhood to adulthood. The book introduced Italian criminal terms like consigliere, caporegime, Cosa Nostra, and omertà to an English-speaking audience. It formed the basis for a 1972 film of the same name. Two film sequels, including new contributions by Puzo himself, were made in 1974 and 1990. The first and second films are widely considered to be two of the greatest films of all time. The plot deals with a mob war fought between the Corleone family and the other four of the Five Families of New York. After Don Vito Corleone is shot by men working for drug dealer Virgil "The Turk" Sollozzo, his two sons, Santino and Michael must run the family business with the help of consigliere Tom Hagen and the two capos Peter Clemenza and Salvatore Tessio. When Sollozzo and an Irish police captain are murdered by Michael, the conflict escalates into a full sc … [Click Below for Full Description]

Mario Puzo
Very Good book in Good dust jacket, see photos and description for details. First edition, first printing, published by Putnam (New York, 1969). Book and jacket match all first state points of issue. Book condition: very good, just a hint of a lean and some lightening toward board edges. Very nice and clean. Pages a touch age toned. Dust jacket condition: good, price-clipped, general edgewear with some fairly minor chipping to spine ends and corners, a bit more expressed at a couple corners. Wear to folds, but flaps are still intact. Some fairly unobstructive small white specks to spine. Verso shows tanning and a few small stains that don't show through. Presents decently, and is now in a removable mylar sleeve. Tracked shipping to USA and Canada, through Canada Post/USPS. Overseas orders please inquire for shipping rates with tracking and estimated times. All books are packaged with care, secured with ample bubble wrap in an appropriately sized box. All orders prepared and shipped by the next business day. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and be sure to check out my other modern first edition listings.
