Les métamorphoses érotiques - choix de dessins exécutés de 1940 à 1968.

A L'Érotiade, [Paris]., 1969. First edition. No. 99 of 300 numbered copies signed by the artist, this being one of 120 copies printed "sur vélin rives", and with an original drypoint signed by him. With a 2-page Introduction by the artist "Contre la pornographie et l'obscénité pour le dieu Eros et l'érotisme''. Quarto. Loose gatherings in satin boards, as published. The artist gives full rein to the ''critical-paranoid method" in which the imagination takes ''found'' images and pulls from them new meanings. Here for the most part he turns and twists anodyne engravings from nineteenth century catalogues and schoolbooks into obscene and sometimes disturbing forms. Dali defined his paranoid-critical method as, "a spontaneous method of irrational knowledge based upon the critical-interpretive association of delirious phenomena". André Breton hailed this as an ''instrument of primary importance'' for the Surrealist movement.Covers a little bit spotted. Near fine in near-fine cloth slipcase slightly rubbed at the corners.

Marcos of the Philippines. A Biography

New York: World, 1969. First Edition. Illustrated with photographs. 1 vols. 8vo. Original brown cloth, very faint waterstain to foot of spine, not affecting contents, else fine in fine dust jacket. First Edition. Illustrated with photographs. 1 vols. 8vo. Presentation Copy From The Fallen Idol Of The Phillipines. A flattering biography of the later deposed dictator. A SUPERB PRESENTATION COPY FROM MARCOS TO RAYMOND K. PRICE, JR., SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO PRESIDENT RICHARD NIXON. Inscribed on front free endpaper, "To Mr. Raymond Price / with best wishes, / F. E. Marcos". Nixon's biographer describes Price, who initially came to the White House as a speech writer, as "A rather shy, soft-spoken man [and] thirty-seven-year old former chief editorial writer for...the New York Herald Tribune...He personified the Eastern Establishment [despite which] he got on well with Nixon, for whom he developed a strong admiration and deep sense of loyalty." The presentation of this book was occasioned by Nixon's visit to the Phillipines in July, 1969 where, accompanied by Price, he scored "a public-relations triumph" [Ambrose]. Price received from Marcos several presents, as well as the promise of this book, which duly arrived at the State Department on August 19 and was delivered to Price at the White House. Accompanying the book is a mimeographed memo to Henry Kissinger concerning "Gifts from President Marcos for Members of the White House Staff", conveying it to Price; this is Mr. Price's copy. Also included is the carbon of a gracious letter from Price to Marcos thanking His Excellency for this book and his other gifts. A WONDERFUL ASSOCIATION COPY, AND A HISTORIC ARTIFACT MARKING A HIGH POINT OF THE NIXON ADMINISTRATION AND OF AMERICAN/PHILLIPINE RELATIONS. Stephen E. Ambrose, NIXON, Vol. II, pp. 106 et seq

        I cinesi

Il Diaframma, 1969. Fotografie in bianco e nero di Caio Maria Garrubba. Introduzione di Goffredo Parise. 4to. pp. 104. . Molto buono (Very Good). Lievi fioriture alle prime e ultime pagine bianche (Some light yellowing). Prima edizione (First Edition). .

The Godfather (FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING)

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1969. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 5 7/8 X 8 5/8 Inches. 446 PP. First printing copy of the now classic novel that was the basis for the film of the same name. NOT THE BOOK CLUB EDITION WHICH IS BEING PASSED OFF AS THE FIRST PRINTING TO UNSUSPECTING BUYERS! This copy bears the proper date of 1969 and no additional dates on the copyright page. The book is bound in a near flawless original white over black publisher cloth binding. Original dust jacket retains price of $6.95 and the proper number code of "6903" on the bottom of the front flap. The DJ itself does show a bit of wear. There are several creases and a few small chips at the folds. A very nice copy overall.

        Slaughterhouse-Five

Delacorte Press, (New York) 1969 - First edition. Fine in a modestly spine-toned, else crisp and near fine dustwrapper. Boldly Inscribed by the author on the half-title. A very nice copy of the author's best-known title. A splendid blend of history, humor, and fantasy in the story of optometrist Billy Pilgrim, survivor of the firebombing of Dresden, unstuck in time and living an alternate life on the planet Tralfamadore. Basis for George Roy Hill's 1972 film that managed to make a good movie out of a virtually unfilmable novel. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
