London Jonathan Cape 1959. First Edition. Signed by the lovely actress Shirley Eaton, who is one of the most famous of all ÒJames Bond GirlsÓ in her role as Jill Masterson, secretary of Goldfinger. After sleeping with James Bond, she is murdered by Goldfinger who had her painted from head to toe in luminescent gold paint. Her portrayal of the beautiful golden girl is one of the great sensual iconic images of the 1960s. Eaton has signed on the title page: ÒShirley Eaton - Jill Masterson - The Golden Girl.Ó Laid in is a original color photograph of Ms. Eaton wearing a sparkly gold sweater and gold jewelry taken at the time of the bookÕs signing. Fine bright copy in a near fine dust jacket. with a faint hint of dust soiling and a minor trace of edge wear. The dust jacket has the classic painting by Richard Chopping of a skull with two $20 U.S. gold coins in the eye sockets and with a long stem rose between the teeth. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover; In Dust Jacket]

LOWENFELS, Walter, & Anton Refregier.
New York: Roving Eye Press, 1959. Single quire of small folio leaves, bound in original linen cloth over boards, printed paper with blockprint illustrations laid down to sides. Covers somewhat stained, with the paper sides a little soiled and creased, internally clean. A very good copy. Original blockprints by Anton Refregier on 9 full page plates and a number of vignette doves. First edition, first impression. From a limited edition of 1000 copies, this one signed by the author and the illustrator, and additionally inscribed by Lowenfels, "For Sol Mandelblatt, these anecdotes of the service, Walter Lowenfels, Mays Landing [Lowenfel's sometime New Jersey home] 1962" This inscription by one of America's most ardent peace activists (himself a card carrying Communist) is certainly ironic, but not ignorantly so; Lowenfels and Mandelblatt were both soldiers who had turned into poets and peace activists through their experience of battle - Lowenfels in the First World War, Mandelblatt in the Second (he was, indeed, awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service while fighting to defend Spain against Hitler and Mussolini as a volunteer in the Lincoln Battalion). A certain community of hard experience gives this inscription and this copy a little more weight and substance, no doubt, than many similar productions of the early 60s. Char René
Broder Louis Ecrits et gravures Inconnu 1959 SUPERBE EXEMPLAIRE CONSERVE TEL QUE PARU. SIGNE PAR MIRO ET RENE CHAR. Paris, Louis Broder. 1959. [Click Below for Full Description]

STOUT, REX & WILLIAM RANDELL
Crime Club / Collins, 1959. This painting on artboard was created and signed by William Randell for the First British Edition of this classic Nero Wolfe mystery novel written by Rex Stout. The painting, itself, measures approximately 6 1/2 inches wide by 8 3/4 inches tall, matted to an overall size of 9 3/4 inches wide by 11 inches tall. Of the Nero Wolfe dust jackets, this is a superior one in that it actually depicts, Nero Wolfe, which was rarely the case with the Rex Stout books published during his lifetime. The great detective is depicted in black sitting in chair caught up in intense thought with the artwork having a blue background.
