Fine in a good, original unprinted glassine dustwrapper. One of 500 numbered copies Signed by both Lax and Antonucci. Additionally, briefly Inscribed by Lax: "Douglas / Bob." Lax's first and most famous book, a meditation on the Creation, was described in the New York Times as "perhaps the greatest English language poem of this century."       Francisco A. Colombo, Buenos Aires 1959 - Percy Bisshe SHELLEY: Adonais. Buenos Aires, [Imprenta de Francisco A. Colombo], 1949-1959. [128]p.

She's so divine in Swan Lake, of course, that imagination boggles at what her performance must be like in the Panama Canal.

1959 1959 - Sheet size: 190 × 140 mm. Stamped on verso for publication in the Daily Mail, 22 April 1959. Pen and black ink and blue pencil on wove paper. British ballerina Dame Margot Fonteyn spent 24 hours in a Panama City jail, while Panamanian police sought her husband, Dr Roberto Arias, a former Panamanian ambassador in London suspected of planning a coup. The cartoons and illustrations of Nicolas Bentley (1907-1978) were part of the warp and weft of English popular culture in the 1950s and 60s. Never savage, though often waspishly accurate and exuding an urbane air of amusement at the foibles of his fellows, Bentley's work was familiar to the public from a wide variety of publications. Between 1952 and 1954 he drew regular cartoons for the weekly Time and Tide, and after that for the daily News Chronicle. Between 1958 and 1962 he drew topical cartoons for the Daily Mail under the title "Watch My Line." He also drew many portraits, in black and white line, of famous people, for various papers, including over sixty for the Sunday Telegraph, which began publication in February 1961.
