Hugo Gernsback FIRST EDITION in DJ
Boston: Stratford, 1925. Good vintage condition. Ralph 124C 41+ A Romance of the Year 2660 by Hugo Gernsback. Boston: The Stratford Company, 1925. 293 pages. ***FIRST EDITION.*** This is the first edition of a story that had originally appeared serially in the magazine, Modern Electrics. It is noted for the author's prediction of many technologies, such as radar and television (if not for its literary merit!). Hugo Gernsback started the first science fiction/pulp fiction magazine, Amazing Stories. He is also the namesake of the Hugo Award, given to a writer each year by the World Science Fiction Society. A rare find. This copy is a blue cloth bound volume. The cloth is bright and the gold lettering is crisp. The book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is in good condition; there is edge wear and discoloring that is commensurate with age and use. Unfortunately, a previous owner proactively taped the edges against further chipping. I have not tried to remove the tape and it is not overbearing. ***Please see photos.*** Will ship free Priority Mail, with insurance included. [Attributes: First Edition; In Dust Jacket]

A.A. Milne
fine book. Alan Alexander Milne (1925) 'When We Were Very Young', UK first deluxe edition, bound in blue leather (just like the original trade edition which was published in blue cloth), published by Methuen. In addition, an original letter handwritten and signed by author A.A. Milne. This is an extremely rare edition and certainly the least common of the four leather bound Winnie-the-Pooh books issued in a few hundred copies. 'When We Were Very Young' was originally published in 1924 as a regular trade edition only. It was immediately successful and the first printing sold out in one day. The publisher Methuen then decided to issue a deluxe leather bound version in three colours: blue, red, and green. The paper stock of the seventh printing of the trade edition (March 1925) was used for that purpose. In 1926 when 'Winnie-the -Pooh' was published it was issued as a deluxe leather bound edition in three colours as well keeping that tradition for the remaing two Pooh books. Condition: a fine and abolutely beautiful copy. No previous owner's scribbles inside, the leather binding is crsip and clean like on the day of publication. No rubbing to the gilding. Page block edges gilded as called for. The original glassine warpper is present and without any chips or tears, now of course yellowed as over 90 years have passed since publication! The original box is near fine with no structural damage at all and a whiff of foxing and darkening as to be expected. The best condition on the marekt and extremely rare to find as the vast majority of deluxe copies are the second editions which … [Click Below for Full Description]

Ezra Pound
A draft of XVI CANTOS. Paris: Three Mountains Press, 1925. Uncorrected Proofs. Folio. Unbound signatures printed entirely on proofing paper and designated as "Author's Proof" on the colophon page. A textual annotation appears in the margin of the 8th Canto in Pound's hand. With the original publisher's prospectus laid in. The bibliographer (Gallup A26) notes that Pound sent out a literal handful of advance proof copies to a few close friends (such as Ford Madox Ford and Agnes Bedford) and this copy (with prospectus) undoubtedly is of that group. A few pages lightly used at margins, else a well-preserved copy in specially made folding box with gilt-stamped morocco spine. The earliest printed text of this seminal modern masterpiece. F Scott Fitzgerald
New York: Scribners. Very good. THE GREAT GATSBY by F. SCOTT FITZGERALD FIRST EDITION FIRST PRINTING c. 1925, Charles Scribner's Sons, New York ________________________ Being offered is a very good True First Edition, First Printing of "The Great Gatsby", by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This book is an incredible find that contains no internal writing or previous owners name. Binding is tight with the slightest tilt. Pages are textually complete, solid hinges, and no discoloration to the paste downs as usually seen in this era of books. All points of the book are sharp with no evidence of bumping. No frays, and minimal evidence of shelf wear. Dark Green boards and Spine display a deep even color all around. Gold lettering of the Title and Authors name at the top of the spine are good (see photos). Internally, Pages, End papers, and Paste Downs are clean and bright with a small Bookseller tag. First published by Charles Scribner's Sons in April 1925, The Great Gatsby received mixed reviews and sold poorly; in its first year, the book sold only 20,000 copies. Napoleon Hill
Napoleon Hill. NAPOLEON HILL'S ORIGINAL MASTERPIECE "THE 1925 LAW OF SUCCESS" "MANUSCRIPT LESSONS" • *I will consider serious offers*• This is the once in a lifetime opportunity for one collector or investor to own, possibly the most famous single piece of Napoleon Hill material. This is the only known complete set in the world, and has been featured on national television. Millions of dollars of collectors edition copies of this very set have been sold in over 50 different countries. Many leading companies have used the information in these books for training and sales gifts. This set comes from my personal museum collection of over 2 decades of collecting. A handful of these were hand pressed in 1925, from the facts we have, most likely by Hill himself. Set and signature also has been personally authenticated by a leading company. Pickup of set will be made at a world renown law firm I currently use, and signed off on. Enjoy and cheers to your success! [Attributes: First Edition]

Fitzgerald died in 1940, believing himself to be a failure and his work forgotten. However, the novel experienced a revival during World War II, and became a part of American high school curricula and numerous stage and film adaptations in the following decades. Today, The Great Gatsby is widely considered to be a literary classic and a contender for the title "Great American Novel," In 1998, the Modern Library editorial board voted it the 20th century's best American novel and second best English-language novel of the same time … [Click Below for Full Description]

SMITH, Clark Ashton
See Detailed Description Below. Undated, but circa 1925-1929. Typed on three sheets of plain 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper. Unsigned, but perhaps this is because the piece is a translation of FEMMES DAMNEÉS: DELPHINE ET HIPPOLYTE from Charles Baudelaire's FLEURS DU MAL [1857]. Three Pages, approximately 900 words, 5 corrections by hand. Paper browned, folded, a fine example. Item #311173 FEMMES DAMNEÉS: DELPHINE ET HIPPOLYTE appeared in the 1857 First Edition of FLEURS DU MAL, but it was one of the censored poems that was removed from the 1861 edition. Smith's translation. which is in prose poem format rather than the verse of the original, was not published until it appeared in THE COMPLETE POETRY AND TRANSLATIONS, Volume 3: The Flowers of Evil and Others (NY: Hippocampus Press, 2007).
