Hans Mikkelsens Fire Skiemte-Digte Med Tvende Fortaler, Samt Zille Hans Dotters Forsvars-Skrift for Qvinde-Kiønned. Trykt i dette Aar 1722.

Uden trykkerangivelse, [København] 1722. 8vo. Upagineret (120) sider. Ehrencron-Müller I,79. Paul Johansen 6,2.

Sthlm, H. C. Merckell, 1722. 4:o. 55 s. Häftad i ngt nött samtida turkmarmorerat omslag. Ryggen blekt och med några revor upptill. Bra inlaga med enstaka smärre lagerfläckar. Fint ex. från Ericsberg.. Hebbe Den svenska lantbrukslitteraturen 2190-91.

Oppian's Halieuticks of the Nature of Fishes and Fishing of the Ancients In V Books. Translated from the Greek, With an Account of Oppian's Life and Writings, and a Catalogue of his Fishes

Oxford: Printed at The Theater 1722 Oxford: Printed at The Theater, 1722. First Edition in English. Engraved title vignette. [8], 232, [7, list of subscribers]. Bound in contemporary gilt paneled full red morocco, a.e.g. Spine faded, and slightly split. A Handsome copy. Lowndes 1726; Brunet IV: 196; Heckscher 1483; Westwood & Satchel, 164; lDean's Bibliography of Fishes (Dean III:295) states that "of all the ancient writers on fish and fishing, Oppian is easily the most important"; Wood p. 500 . "The labor of translating this Greco-Roman author was divided between Mr. Diaper (Pt. 1, Books I and II) and John Jones (Pt. 2, Books III to V). The latter contributor also wrote an account of Oppian"s life and writings and compiled a catalogue of his Fishes. The contests between rival factions in the sea are amusingly drawn in the lines relating to the Lobster, the Lamprey, and the Preke (octopus). The remarkable color-changes of the last named were well know to the ancients (Book II). "-Wood

Folds and creases, some marginal tears and wear, discoloration and spotting of some but generally in good condition . John Luxford lived at Woods Gate Near Tunbridge Wells. The abstract relates to the title of pasture woodlands in Kent and Beckley, Sussex and begins with the will of Samuel Gott (1722) whose property descended to the daughters of his sister who had married William Westom Hugessen of Provender. The daughters married Sir Edward Knatchbull and Sir Joseph Banks. Jane Austen's Fanny Knight Knatchbull was the daughter-in-law of the first named becoming the second wife of Sir Edward Knatchbull. The 1824 printed catalogue bears some prices marked out. The letter from Howland reports on the valuation of timber apparently on the lots listed in the 1824 catalogue although the letters dates from after the sale
