Stockholm Palace is located on Stadsholmen, in Gamla stan in the capital, Stockholm. After the Ice Age, at around 8,000 BC, there had already been vast migrations towards the present-day Stockholm area, but as temperatures dropped, inhabitants moved away towards the South. Thousands of years later, as the ground thawed, the climate became tolerable, and the lands became fertile, some life moved back to the North. At the intersection of the Baltic Sea and lake Mälaren is an archipelago site where the Old Town of Stockholm was first occupied in about 1000 AD by Vikings. Vikings had a positive trade impact on the land because of the trade routes they created.

PEARSON, John [1613-1686]
Printed by W. Bowyer, for S. Keble, London, 1715. Pp. 4 p.l., 398, [10] index. Title ruled in red, copper-engraved frontis portrait by D. Leggan, woodcut printer’s device, woodcut headpiece and initials. Contemporary calf, panelled in blind in the Cambridge style, plain spine with five raised bands, gilt label. Minor rubbing to extremities, corners a little bumped, headcap worn, front and rear joints cracking (but covers holding firmly), otherwise a very nice copy, in an attractive and still-serviceable binding. A powerful champion of the Church of England against Romanism and Nonconformity, John Pearson, Bishop of Chester, was "perhaps the most erudite and profound divine of a learned and theological age. His classical Exposition of the Creed. reveals his firm grasp of fundamental principles, his delight in clear and accurate statement, and his judicious and sober temper, while the notes which illustrate the text reflect his remarkable knowledge, especially of the Christian Fathers." Nicolas de FER (1646 - 1720).
Paris, circa, 1715. Copper engraving coloured in outline (Very Good, white margins with tiny tears and manuscript number): 22.5 x 34 cm. Detailed shows Neuchatel, today a part of Switzerland, but then a sovereign state. It is based on the first comprehensive survey of the country conducted by David-Francois de Merveilleux (1652 - 1712), first published in 1710 by Guillaume de L’Isle. The principality is dived into several communities, each distinguished here in their own bright original full wash colours. The map details a variety of fascinating attributes of human geography, including the labeling of all villages, chateaux, abbeys, parish churches, country estates, court houses, historical battle fields, roads and springs, amongst others. During the period when the map was published, the Principality of Neuchatel was ruled by Frederick the Great of Prussia (reigned 1740-1786), and was undergoing a period of unprecedented prosperity, as its watch and machine tools industry was thriving under the king’s business friendly policies. Neuchatel had been ruled by Prussia since 1707, as the Prussian kings had successfully (even is somewhat ‘creatively’) claimed ancestral title to the princeship following a dynastic dispute. In 1806 the principality was conquered by Napoleon Bonaparte and Field Marshal Louis-Alexandre Berthier was named prince. In 1814 the Prussian king was restored to the princeship, however, Neuchatel also joined the Swiss Confederation as the 21st Canton, being the only canton to enter the union as principality. This map was published in Atlas Curieux by Nicolas … [Click Below for Full Description]

[Callenbach, Franz].
Ohne Ort, ohne Drucker (d. i. Nürnberg, G. Christoph Lochner?), o. J. (um 1715). 8°. 187 S., Mod. marmor. Ppbd. - Vgl.
