Contemporary vellum with lapped edges, early hand-lettered title to spine. Light soiling, corners and spine ends bumped, pastedowns loose, text block partially detached but secure. Some edgewear to front and rear endleaves, a bit of rubbing to fore-edge of title page. Moderate toning to text, light foxing to a few leaves, internally clean. An appealing copy of a rare imprint. * First published in 1551, this was the first comprehensive study of criminal procedure published in northern Europe. Nei diversi capitoli, si parla di bestie bovine, vini e uve, canal di Reno, monete, macellari, pesce e pescatori, rubbatori e guastatori di frutti, uccellatori, ecc.Il "Cardinale Stefano Durazzo" fu legato a Bologna dal giugno del 1640 al novembre del 1642, dove si interessò subito alle opere di fortificazione urbane e promulgò nuove disposizioni di ordine pubblico e universitario.

The view from above the city shows the position of Lyon between the rivers Rhône and Saône the "Presqu'île" as the peninsular is known. Good impression ; even light toning; smudges to extreme lower blank margin. Gottfreid's "Historische Chronica" was published by. Merian between1642-59 using his own plates from the "Topographia Germania" and the "Theatrum Europaeum" as illustrations. Matthäus Merian der Ältere (or "Matthew", "the Elder", or "Sr."; 1593 - 1650) Born in Basel, Merian learned the art of copperplate engraving in Zürich. He next worked and studied in Strasbourg, Nancy, and Paris, before returning to Basel in 1615. The following year he moved to Frankfurt, Germany where he worked for the publisher Johann Theodor de Bry, who was the son of renowned engraver and traveler Theodor de Bry. In 1617, Merian married Maria Magdalena de Bry, daughter of the publisher, and was for a time associated with the de Bry publishing house. In 1620 they moved back to Basel, but three years later returned to Frankfurt. In 1623 Merian took over the publishing house of his father-in-law after de Bry's death. Composé entre autres d'une missive du roi de Hongrie au monarque danois, il concerne principalement le traité de Hambourg (1641) qui fixa les préliminaires à la négociation de la paix. Quattro parti con registro e numerazione delle carte indipendenti in un volume di cm. 14. Solida legatura coeva in piena pergamena semirigida con nome dell'autore ms. al dorso. Qualche naturale fioritura, ma esemplare genuino e ben conservato. Non comune raccolta delle principali opere del prolifico storico e studioso bolognese Virgilio Malvezzi (1599-1654). Quest'ultimo fu ambasciatore spagnolo in Inghilterra ed alcune sue opere quali il Privato politico ed il Davide sono la diretta conseguenza di quell'importante esperienza politica e diplomatica.
