Prima raccolta postuma delle numerose e varie rime dell'Ongaro, voluta da Tiberio Palello nel 1600, con dedica a Isabella Pallavicini. Nella raccolta abbondano le poesie encomiastiche, le amorose, le poesie religiose, l'ecloga "Fillide" e molti sonetti nei quali sono cantate le bellezze di Roma. “Il veneziano Antonio Ongaro (1560-1595), studiò legge a Padova e nel 1578 si trasferì a Roma.. Passò al servizio di Mario Farnese al cui seguito partecipò nel 1586 alla guerra delle Fiandre. In quegli anni viaggiò per l'Europa con incarichi che lo distolsero dall'amata poesia e di questa vita si lamenta in alcuni versi dedicati a Tiberio Palello. Intanto il cerchio delle sue relazioni s'era molto allargato: aveva amici come il Tasso e lo Strozzi. Col nome di Affidato, entrò all'Accademia degli Illuminati, costituita da Isabella Pallavicini, suocera di Mario Farnese”. Così Diz. Opere Bompiani, III, p. 18. Quasi certamente è questo il primo libro stampato a Farnese (presso il lago di Bolsena).
