1952. Original pen and ink drawing on wove paper. Presented in a handmade white gold leaf frame with conservation mount and glass. Excellent condition. Sheet size: 40 x 24 cm. Signed lower left in ink by Beaton, titled lower right. An original drawing for a costume design for Picnic at Tintagel, a version of the story of Tristram and Iseult performed by the New York City Ballet in 1952. This drawing appears as an illustration in Charles Spencer's book Cecil Beaton, Stage and Film Design on page 73. This comes with a copy of the book.
