Men of Concord
Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, MA 1936 - E. B. White's (1899-1985) personal copy of this edition of "Men of Concord." White has signed "E B White" in black ink on the second free endpaper. White had a great affinity for Henry David Thoreau, owning many copies of works by him. From the Estate of Joel (1930-1997) & Allene White. xxiii, 391, [1] pp. 12mo. Paper covered boards with a floral design, red cloth spine with gold embossed titling which has faded slightly over time; corners bumped with small losses. The ten color plates (which includes the frontispiece) and the endpapers of the book were created by N. C. Wyeth; the additional twenty-four pen & ink drawings and title page are by Andrew Wyeth under his father's direction (Allen & Allen). [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
