Our Mutual Friend
London: Chapman and Hall,, 1865. 2 volumes, octavo. Original purple cloth, spines gilt, yellow endpapers. Wood engraved frontispiece and 38 wood-engraved plates after Marcus Stone. Some foxing (as often), abrasion to title page of volume 1 with loss of part of the name "Charles" in "Charles Dickens". A particularly nice set in the original cloth. First edition, bound from the original monthly parts (with stab marks to the plates). This copy does have the rare slip explaining the title (tipped in before page 1 in volume I).
