Faber & Faber, London,, 1960. Octavo. Original purple cloth, titles to spine gilt. Some fraying to head of spine. First edition, first impression. The author's second collection which prints some of his most revered work including Pike, Hawk Roosting and November. With the author's signed presentation inscription on the title page, "To Janos / from your friend / Ted / August 13th 1960". Janos Csokits is a Hungarian poet and was a close friend of both Hughes and Plath and worked with Hughes in the translation of the work of Janos Pilinszky.
