Robert Bakewell was a geologist, who offers general accounts of Annecy, the Valley of Thones, Aix les Bains, Chamonix, Geneva, Lausanne, Interlaken, Grindelwald, the Wengen Alps, Berne, Laggo Maggiore, Evian, Clermont, etc., and numerous observations following the author's inclinations toward all aspects of geology.
