Boldy Signed by Pearl Buck, under whose signature it is additionally Inscribed by Yen to Adlai Stevenson: "For M. Adlai Stevenson, with highest esteem, Y.C. James Yen. '59 [additional Chinese characters]." A handsome copy of this book that was the opening salvo in the effort to encourage mass literacy in China and elsewhere. .
