Bellissima carta geografica incisa in rame, con coloritura d?epoca (cm. 49,2 x 57,5), sotto passe - partout e con cornice (cm. 72,6 x 78,7). In alto al centro un superbo ed elaborato cartiglio; in basso, a sinistra la pianta di Messina e a destra la pianta di Catania con sullo sfondo l?Etna, in parte colorati. Cfr. Van de Gohm ?Antique Maps?, p. 145: ?George Matthew Seutter (1678 - 1757), cartographer and publisher of Vienna and Augsburg. He was a maker of scientific instruments, and a publisher of maps. He was apprenticed in 1697 to John Baptist Homann of Nurnberg, and his maps reflect the Homan influence with large ornate cartouches abounding in flora, figures, fauna and other decorative devices?.
