Tall 8vo, rebound in early 20th Century half dark blue calf, marbled boards, red gilt spine label, raised bands on spine, pp. viii, 622. binding very good, interior nice and bright. While there are many copies in libraries, oddly rare on the marketplace. At the time of this cataloging there is but one other copy of the first printing we could fine, substantially more than double our price.This copy bears the ownership signature of George Wald, Nobel winning scientist in the field of medicine and physiology for his work on retinas and color perception.
