() Very good. 28pp. Octavo, sewn as issued, in original salmon coloured wrappers with folding map of Vancouver Island and the adjoining coasts. Discreet institutional stamp on front cover, map and beginning of text else a very good copy of a scarce item. Not in TPL, Sabin, Casey, Lande, NUC. Lowther #11 and Smith 1907 cite only the B.C. Archives copy. Written to encourage immigrants to obtain land from the Hudson's Bay Company for settlement. The work outlines conditions of land purchase, costs, and quotes published sources on the suitability of Vancouver Island for settlement. Series: Great Britain Colonial Office.
