Photograph Signed ?Lieut. Joseph M. Irvin / 131st Penna. Vol. / 1865.? Sepia, 5.75? x7.75?. Full-length studio photograph in uniform, holding a sword. Photograph has minor flaws, but signature is dark and strong. Ornately framed to 13? x 15.25?. Frame is rubbed. Photograph is in apparent good condition.Joseph M. Irvin was mustered into nine months service as 2nd Lieutenant, Company B, 131st Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, on August 15, 1862. At the Battle of Fredericksburg, December 12-15, 1862, Lieutenant Irvin was severely wounded. The 131st also fought at the Battle of Chancellorsville, May 1-5, 1863. Lieut. Irvin was mustered out with his company on May 23, 1863.
