London: J. Egerton, et al, 1794. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. 8vo. vi,(2),vi,286,(2)pp. Errata slip bound in at rear. The final leaf is a publisher's advertisement. Contemporary full polish calf. Spine in six compartments with raised bands, intricately gilt; leather lettering label, gilt, gilt borders on boards, marbled endpapers. Pp. 283 and 284 are misnumbered 288 and 194. With the bookplate of John Andrew Buchanan (presumably a descendant of the author), and with a handwritten note dated 1926 and signed by Mrs. J. A. Buchanan and others on the preliminary blank. Covers specific areas of the Picts, Scots, Fingal, Ossian, the Macs, Clans, Bodotria, &c. Edges and hinges rubbed and lightly worn, some staining to the covers else a very good copy. Scarce. ESTC T144643.
