Designed by Kazuo Nitta. 132 pp., with 106 black and white plates beautifully printed on matt paper by Dainippon Printing Company, Tokyo. 10-11/16 x 11-9/16 inches. Out of print. Extremely scarce. One of the least known outstanding monographs of Friedlander's work. CONDITION: Fine in Fine dust jacket. A spectacular copy of this beautifully printed and rare Lee Friedlander retrospective published on the occasion of the Lee Friedlander exhibition held in Japan under the auspices of the Seibu Museum of Art and the Asahi Shimbun. Includes a portfolio from the photographer's "Cherry Blossom Time in Japan" series (previously published only in a rare 1986 portfolio of 25 photogravures) in addition to essays by John Szarkowski, Takashi Tsujii and Koko Yamagishi.
