Vol 1: lxvii, [3],246 pages plus a 2 page handwritten contents in an unknown hand in rear. Early leather with some crackling to surface and wear at extremties. Armorial device on front and rear board and matching bookplate on front pastedown endpaper. Joints cracked, some minor loss to leather spine panel head/tail and extremities. Labels are indistinct now one notes "Par Senac". Vol 2: 247-796 pages. Lacking the section title leaf before p. 247 per Cole. Some dampstaining to the pages, volume label scuffed, still presentable. Together 2 volumes. Hard Cover. "A 'pioneering work on phlogiston chemistry' (Guerlac), which introduced Stahl's theory into France. At the same time it caused a revolution in chemistry by the application of Newton's principles to chemical doctrines." Neville 2, p 454 (referring to the second edition of 1737). Cole 1195.
