London., 1808. London., 1808. comprehending Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelders, Over Yssel, Friesland and Groningen, with the lands of Drent, Dutch Flanders & Dutch Brabant &c. Size: 535 x 630 mm. Copperplate engraving in full original wash colour. Good condition. Minor offsetting, and a split to lower centrefold. John Cary was an important and prolific London map seller, engraver, globe and scientific instrument maker. This example is his excellent map of The Netherlands, its Extends from Flanders in the south to Emden in the north. Amsterdam is the capital, whilst the seat of government in in The Hague. The city of Rotterdam is Europe's busiest port. This attractive map shows all the latest discoveries and information. Published in 'Cary's New Universal Atlas'.
