THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF ROBERT HUTCHINGS GODDARD: Father of the Space Age
Worcester:: Achille J. St. Onge,, 1966.. Worcester:: Achille J. St. Onge,. 1966. First edition. The early years, to 1927. One of 1,926 numbered copies. This copy SIGNED BY NEIL ARMSTRONG. A small, 2 x 3-inch production bound in dark blue leather with all edges gilt. Armstrong's autographs have become increasingly scarce, as he stopped signing autographs for the general public in 1994. He was a very private person who rarely gave interviews. As the first man to walk on the Moon he may be the one astronaut whose name people will recognize long into the future, particularly for his famous quote from the surface of the Moon on July 20, 1969: "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind." A fine copy. Complete provenance available to buyer.
