Sense and Sensibility
George Allen, London. 1899. George Allen, London. 1899. First edition thus. Illustrated with dozens of line drawings [chapter-heads and full-page] by Hammond. First edition thus. Illustrated with dozens of line drawings [chapter-heads and full-page] by Hammond. Bound in heavily gilt-embossed original publisher's green cloth. Superb VG+ bumped spine. Slightly cocked, spine gilt just a little less bright than the front. Internally, apart from a neat near contemporary ink inscription on the blank verso of the front endpaper, no further ink marks or writing, very light foxing to endpapers, titles and first couple of pages of text. (Usually this books, appears very foxed). In all, externally, a very presentable copy indeed of this more uncommon edition. 7480
